yo first off dude wasnt even a signed rapper for most of the time that big and pac were around.....in 96 he had a gold album just like ghostface, gza, mobb deep etc....I kno this shyt it trying to slight jay but why do we only ask this about jay....y didnt masta p blow up with big and pac around why didnt Jarule blow up with big and pac around? see where this can go?

Is this logic?

its funny i used to think it was because there was too much competittion ... but comp aint had nothing to do with it ... cause the playing field wasnt even ... its like expecting Alley Boy to come out and outsell Kendrick Lamar ... eventually he will be able to once the playing field is leveled ... Kendrick is working on his second album ... Alley boy is still working on his first and doesnt really have his major situation together yet pretty much still underground but i believe he has ties with Atlantic / Warner ....

Jay was overshadowed by Pac and Big in the mainstream.

/thread

thats not over shadow ... its what you call the difference between Major promo vs Indy Promo ...

Big had Puff with his 40 million dollar label behind them ....

Nas had columbia (major) and the ultimate secret weapon that jayz eventually stole lol ... STEVE STOUTE!!

2pac had interscope (major), deathrow (major/indy), movies, digital underground, ny & cali behind him

Jayz had an virtually unknown up coming team behind him Dash & Biggs, Payday & Priority Records (indy) behind him ... Clark Kent probably was the most known individual in Jayz team @ that time .... which was pretty much a production connection which is why jayz first album sounded so well ... but didnt perform like albums like Ready to Die or Tupacs joints or Nas with IWW ....

the playing field didnt level for Jayz until he made the deal with Def Jam ... now if he had that situation with Reasonable doubt then folks would be saying something ..... but thats not the case .....

Nigga said Jay was like ASAP Rocky

wack thread.

reading is fundamental

I read that right.

You said Jay's popularity was like ASAP Rocky's popularity.

Thus you are saying Jay was like him at that time.

No need to try to act like I didnt comprehend what you said. I did and it was stupid as fuck.

if you trying to call me out on something you think is stupid, then explain why it's stupid

cats act like jay already had multiple albums in 96..2pac ain't blow up until his third album and was mainly known for his run ins with the law; big had 1 album that made him a huge star..pac's and big's reigns on top where shorter than leprechauns (pun intended)

Cos he never even put out an Album out when they were alive or had a record deal he was pretty much working a minimum wage job when they were both alive

Were as Jay Z had an Album out in 1996 Reasonable Doubt his best 1 infact
