you've bragged in the past about graduating from some awful southern HBCU, dont lie old man

i graduated from the UCF with a BS in Legal studies and Criminal Justice. I had a 3.7, corresponding secretary for my fraternity, and got into UM law school. I would never even think about going to a HBCU except for Howard University.

i mean what are fireflies here for? seriously? to entertain us at night, to find the true meaning of the universe or just to survive and live? Of course, we are way more intelligent than fireflies, but is it just because we are smarter that we try to make more out of a little.

I think it is, because we can.

The purpose is stewardship of the planet and perhaps more than that when we grow up as a species.

'Grow up' like a mental evolution or awakening?

We didn't evolve consciousness we were created with it.

Fair enough, but we did become conscientious beings by choice, by eating of the 'fruit' of the 'tree of knowledge of good an evil'.

I could be wrong, but to have a conscience I believe says that humans are not just animals; To have a conscience says that we have something inside us to acknowledge and express the truth through what we understand about what is right and wrong.

I think this is partly what seperates us from animals too. But what about people without a conscience; like sociopaths and psychopaths?

It seems obvious to me if we did not evolve from apes, we would of found the missing link by now and the whole biblical creation thing is so far fetched on so many levels. It's pretty obvious to me human evolution has been "messed with", as one of my boys said "how did we go from dull stick to sharp stick" so fast.
let me see if i understand this:

-you don't believe in the slow process of evolution because there's no definitive "missing link" ... yet you don't seem to be providing the definitive evidence of the point when aliens "messed with" humans, just that one of your boys doesn't understand the development of technology

-you don't believe in biblical creation because it's far-fetched ... yet you want me to accept the notion of aliens showing up, "messing with" human evolution for undetermined reasons, and then rolling out because it's, what, a well-supported theory with lots of scientific evidence?

huh

I've taken numerous human species classes-
numerous human species classes?

also, why is this always the support for arguments? "don't disagree with me about economics, i've taken NUMEROUS UNVERIFIABLE ECONOMICS CLASSES FROM AN UNSPECIFIED COLLEGE, FELLOW ANONYMOUS INTERNET DUDES!"

FAKE EDIT: alright, you did admittedly claim a college, but this is a more general argument anyway. although i am curious about all these "human species classes" and "anthropology classes" taken in the pursuit of "a BS in Legal studies and Criminal Justice."

Why do you think humans evolved to be conscious animals? Why did we evolve to have a conscience, what purpose do these things serve?

None

the dependent mind need purpose....the independent mind creates it(but doesn't need it)

You speak of humans in third person, u are 2 intelligent to just consider yourself a conscious animal. We never evolved to Be, we always are.

Nowadays we might look back at how our ancestors were different hundreds of thousands if not millions of years ago when the entire planet had different climates and continents changed, seas and lakes came and dissapeared etc

I never had the imp[ression that we evolved, just adopting to the very earth we live on, which changed just as dramatically as us.

One might question what a conscious is, there are different animals on this planet that experience the earth differently then us, it all depends on the perception of what is truelly conscious.(especially our so called conscious, in the hominid form of your liking).....

forget about 'why' btw, nothing makes sense, reason and logic ae the tools of the ignorant when questioning our very existence and that of the planet....
