I think that's part of what he would do if he was ever truly running things. Drake is just more proof that sales don't mean shit. He will never get the respect to actually change anything because his work is just too damn soft. I hate that word but fuck it there you have it. Soft, soft, soft.

IMO Drake hurts Street Hiphop Far more than ZNO claiming Em does... There not one ounce of agression in any of his music.

He makes R&B rap without the coke, guns, or other genocide themes, thats his lane.
He aint promoting faggotry, drug-abuse, gang-ganging or Europeon superiority.

Drake is this generations LL Cool J he makes music for the Sista's and throws us brothers a few bones here and there.

He aint making corny Pop songs with a cracka to cross-over or tap-dancing with Chris Martin.

That "Thug" shit played out with Tupac, now its about finesse and game; get some or get left out.

it's a lane for thug music, it's a lane for the music Drake makes too, nothing wrong with diversity. it's better to have more voices heard from different perspectives.

Lemme ask you a question

If someone tried to attack Drakes mother what would he do? the devil in him will come out like it's suppose to under the right situation

There is a thing called rightous anger that is rightous agression

What is point of sensless agression for no reason? why should Drake make Street Music when he is not Street and from the Suburbs why hate on him for being him?

It difference b... soft music is in harder shit is out...Been even more evident since 09 when Drake Popped off with Best I ever Had...No Surprise you have Jay-z Dropping soft shit like Empire State of Mind, Em Dropping wack soft shit like Love the Way You Lie, Nas doing a collab album with Damien Marley while dope asid from 2 tracks its all soft shit....

Labels see Drake success and they duplicating it by other rappers tone the shit down..

Its why I give all the props to Common in which 2 outta his 3 singles are hard shit with Ghetto Dreams and Sweet...

Rick Ross the only other Major artis doing Hard Music and no surprise some of the softest shit he does had Drake on it...

It goes in cycles someone will come out with harder shit that will blow...

Nah I don't believe that. Basically Drake is making it cool to be yourself in your music which really can never be a bad thing. It'd be worse if he was trying to be a thug but he's not. The most you can do if u don't feel him is ignore him. Like HRap said his music is mostly for women but he does throw us guys some music out too. I think my issue with Drake is I don't really care for the rapper/singer. I mean its cool sometimes(I really like TML) but when I know you can spit better than u can sing I wanna hear the rapping not the singing.....and when Drake decides to rap he is definitely one my favorite artists doing it today.

(didnt like this that much)

Compare those three to EMPIRE STATE OF MIND easily tell the difference of whats soft and what isnt....

the whole point of Empire State of Mind was its crossover appeal. Everybody in NYC knows that song, they may not know the ones you posted
Brooklyn's Finest tho>>>>>>>>>>>
