im not saying try to abolish the control the media has over the individual that would be illogical and impossible, but diminish its effect teach your kids the difference between fantasy and reality watch television with them, ask them what they think of a particular rapper and give them insight into the REAL world, just dont let these niggas raise your kids and then blame them when your kids are fucked up because you werent doing YOUR job as a parent.

I agree, but i'm just saying we should also hold the rappers responsible for their influence on kids/the hood or what ever.

They do have influence and they know they do, but very few do anything positive with it.

It's not like rappers music are not easily accessible to kids. All they have to do is turn on the radio internet or the tv .

they play it like 24 /7 even rappers with questionable music are popping up on nick and cartoon network.

If you are going to be a rapper , kids are going to look up to you point blank.

If you don't want that pressure don't sign the contract.

And most of these rappers are. Thanksgiving just passed I saw where atleast 5 rappers gave back to the community. If that ain't being a good example, nothing is.

Why do some rappers get flack for having a bad message and not doing good for the community when the parents are supposed to raise the children not the rappers . Nicki Minaj is an example , i personally think she is complete garbage , i didnt know what garbage meant til' i heard of Nicki Minaj but why do some people say that she is ruining the youth and fucking up young girls when she cant be a parent to everyone ?

She's not ruining the youth or fucking up young girls. She is just another chick willing to slut it up on tv for fame and fortune. Which is no different from Beyonce', or Ciara, or Keri Hilson, or any other female who can't wear clothes and sell records at the same time, and is willing to be told that they have to do what they are doing in order to stay relevant. Male artists are no different. They never shot a gun, but they parade around on tv selling themselves off to be the craziest, most thugged out nigga on the planet, when they are far from it. These same people have the audacity to expect people to just give them money for their work, when it lacks any substance, no real message, and just a bunch of violent derogatory bullshit bragging about how rich they are and how they can fuck any girl in the club. Or for the women, it's a song about being a bitch but badder then any other bitch, and how any man who wants to fuck them will have to have money and a nice car, because their pussy is worth it. So no they're not supposed to be role models, but if they expect people to remain loyal customers, they'll have to come a lot better then that.

No one is expecting rappers to do everything. But if you're from a poor community where all of your family and friends live, and you was fortunate enough to not only get out the hood, but actually be in a position of wealth to help the same hood you came from. Then why wait for government money to help, or someone who's never lived in the hood to come down and help?? When that person who was willing to kill to be labeled a trap star, can actually be the guy who lead a real movement and not just some publicty stunt movement to sell an album.
