Revis is nice but like someone else said the Jets blitz damn near every play so its not like he's in coverage that long

That doesn't substitute for every time though.

The Steelers last year stayed Blitzing and hitting the QB quick and our corners got exposed with ease.

the steelers don't have great cornerbacks like revis. when the qb only has 2-3 seconds to throw the ball, it makes the cornerbacks job that much easier, but they still have to finish the play.

People bringing up the Jet's blitzes, stop it. It's when the Jets blitz that Revis is all alone against the WR so that's not a good arguement if you think he's overrated. And sometimes the blitz doesn't even get there like we saw Monday Night.

actually it is. if he's all alone and the receiver has already shown he's not running a slant, chances are he's running a deep route, or a comeback route. being able to eliminate what the receiver is NOT going to do is essential, and having a defense that gets after the quarterback helps determine which routes the receivers can run.

Nigga deserves his props; I only take issue when people have the audacity to put him in the same breath as Deion. Now that shit there is just absurd.

But what if the blitz doesn't get there? Cause sometimes the Jets just get hurries, not sacks. NO ONE in this league can cover a WR for more than 3-4 seconds anyway.

sure, if the blitz doesn't get there, then that IS when revis can separate himself from other corners...and that last thing you said is false, if i wasn't lazy i'd put it in the appropriate thread

Explain to me how it's false since you know everything.

because there are some corners who have been able to, on occasion, stick w/ receivers for 3-4 seconds. i'm pretty sure most people would agree to that.

Same thing i wanted to know.... Boldin was Torchin them niggas and Revis was never on him

i dont know if Rex Was trying to ease Revis back because he didnt' play any pre-season games....

but he needed to be on Boldin....not a damn Rookie who was gettin Chewed up

Oh Yea And Mason is like 900 Years old he dont get no props for locking him down.

and oh yeah, co sign bold

ROFL @ claiming Derrick Mason the # 3 receiver while Boldin had 110 yards on the Jets.

I have to admit I didn't understand that AT ALL.

i got no Hate For Revis , Dude Can Flat out Ball.....

Just a little curious on why he wasn't matched up on Boldin .... but besides that Revis Brings his A-Game every game ....

I think the Jets were more worried about Mason. Even at his age he is one the quickest and best route runners in the game.

I think Ryan thought Cromartie would have a better chance trying to stick Boldin.

Mason got his Stats Last year based off the Fact he was the only WR even close to worth a damn For The Ravens so flacco went to him every single time, they damn near panic'd last year when Mason was about to retire so that let u know they didnt have shit close to him at the time....he's "Ok" at this stage , he's no where near a threat to waste revis on...

Id rather have a Rookie or a Brutal Cromartie on a Old Slow Mason rather than have those two try and match up on Boldin...it never made sense to me from the jump..
