Master P made some powerful moves thats why I voted for him.

But in hindsight, most of those No Limit albums were garbage.

I still say Master P was the MVP of 1998

You throw rocks and hide your hands.

You ain't even heard a fraction of those albums (as evidenced by your No Limit graveyard thread that you never responded to) but are quick to call them garbage.

FOH.

I agree with you that I haven't heard a fraction of those No Limit albums but I'm a student of Hip Hop. I study Hip Hop. If those albums were any good people would still be talking about them.

I have Ghetto D which is a good listen. I like the production but I seriously doubt that the rest of those albums are 5 mic classics.

Having said that, Master P was doing big things in 1998.

I dont wanna be petty *nore voice* but didnt you once say you never heard Big Pun's or Big L's albums??? Or was it just Pun??? Either way you missing out on CLASSIC albums...

I never heard Yeah Baby and I have no desire to. I have Capital Punishment and Endangered Species. I also have Big L's Harlem's Finest LP which should be in The Vault.

As far as Master P is concerned, by all means, tell me which of the No Limit albums that came out in 1998 are "classics".

And lets not front like you've heard EVERY rap album.

What about 'Endangered Species'??? Im sure you said like a month or so again you have NEVER heard Big Pun, so I posted up Capital Punishment etc and said I wish I could listen to that for the first time...

Street Life by Fiend was the last great no limit album and was definitely a classic. It dropped in 2000 but yeah.

That was actually July 1999 and the last album Beats By The Pound produced.

I think Tha Last Meal is a classic too.

So let me get this straight; There's a thread where I said I never heard Big Pun but you don't have the time to look for it and provide a link?

Who had the highest grossing tour that year?

The nigga y'all claim was the mvp of that year was the undercard of that tour.

Jay 1a

Dmx 1b

I was there. Some of you niggas wasn't.

And if you were born in 1993 or later I don't wanna hear your fucking opinion.

It was a rocafella ruff Ryder tour n X outsold Jay by a lot so it's X fam stop, Jay was still not the man yet

Are we debating the best rapper or the best mogul? Because Master P had the game on lock in 1998. Not saying he was the best rapper that year but he was making bigger moves than anybody else. No Limit was releasing like 2 or 3 albums every week.

Even tho dmx had his best year that year I gotta ride with p

I'm from the south side that's not hard to understand, he had the gulf coast on lock

The album sales don't lie ..5 million plus

Two albums in one year

HARD KNOCK LIFE SOLD 5.8 MIL THAT YEAR IF IT'S BASED ON SALES. IF YOU'RE DISCUSSING QULAITY OF MUSIC THEN AQUEMINI IS THE BEST ALBUM THAT YEAR

Both 'It's Dark and Hell is Hot' and Vol 2 have sold over 5 mil. Vol 2 has sold closer to 5.3 Million than 5.8, and has only sold a few hundred thousand more copies than IDAHIH.

Add 'Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood' selling 670,000 its 1st week to end the year, it's gotta go to X

Dont get me wrong, it's close and Jay hard more international appeal with his singles, but X had the streets on lock. Jay had to make radio friendly music to move the numbers X did with "Get at Me Dog", "Ruff Ryders Anthem" and "Slippin"
