We didn't listen to Snoop at all. In fact, we didn't even listen to Biggie, we thought he was commercial.
I was a backpacker, I avoided everything commercial. I can remember chillin with my homies smoking weed and watching videos and a West Coast video came on (don't remember who). Whoever it was had jheri curls and was riding in a low rider, it was a typical G-Funk beat. We started laughing at him. Then the video for It Ain't Hard To Tell came on and we were silent for the whole video. Thats one of those moments thats stuck in my head.
There was a 6 month span where the only thing I listened to was Illmatic, Midnight Marauders, Enter The Wu:36 Chambers, Hard to Earn and The Sun Rises In The East.

Have you ever, in your entire life, driven around with the top down, with the volume on full blast bumping Eminem?
I never owned a drop top but yes I was ridin around bumpin TES from the day it was released. I was 20 yrs old and yes I will still blast his music today thru my 12" woofers with no fucks given and will turn around and bump every Nas album. Who does that? Me

With all due respect, I can't imagine a scenario where I'm chillin with my homies blasting Eminem. I always thought his music was corny in the first place. That has nothing to do with his skills on the mic, I'm talking about his overall music (beats, choruses, hooks, themes, etc.). So I thought his music was corny when it first came out, but now, 15 years later it has absolutely no replay value.
In all seriousness, if I pulled up to a stoplight and saw somebody pull up next to me bumping Lose Yourself on full blast with the windows down I'd probably burst out laughing.
Ok....so? I like a rapper you dont, summabitch. What's funny about that is, I can ride down Bankhead blasting Nas and some of them would laugh at me also :joy: see how that works?
" the other 3 niggas in my crew wasn't fuckin witEmSnoop or Big so that must mean no niggas is fuckin witemSnoop or Big"

I mean me and my friends.
I remember having the S&S mixtape with What's My Name on it. but truthfully, I wasn't a fan of the G-Funk sound. That was just my personal opinion.
I don't know if you've ever been to Boston but its kinda backwards. There's alot of colleges and Universities and alot of intellectuals. People in Boston tend to intellectualize music so people like Snoop or Master P get hated on.
People in Boston were more likely to listen to Jeru The Damaja or Gang Starr over Snoop or Master P.
