The argument is for the past decade (2000-2010). Kobe's days as a role player when he was age 17-19 in the 90's does not count.

Like I said even if you consider him a role player during their championship run it was only 3 years.

No Absolutely not Gasol is a 1a type player

He led the grizzlies to the playoffs 3X in the west they won 50 games ,rookie of the year,19 and 9 before the lakers

Kobe was only a role player from '96-'98, and even THEN it was a stretch to call him a role player. As much as I despise the nigga, Ron Mercer, Rick Fox, Eddie Jones (post Kobe), and Nick Van Exel were more role players on those teams than Kobe.

It was plenty games where Kobe took over without teams triple teaming Shaq. Games where Shaq was in foul trouble... or where teams resorted to Hack a Shaq and he had to come thru in the clutch or shaq would clank us out of the game from the foul Line... or he was just plain on fire.

If you sayin the only reason Kobe scored was because of Shaq getting double or triple teamed, how about when he won the scoring title with no Shaq. One thing I know if I don't know shit else is the man can put the ball in the hoop no matter what.
