i was in chicago that summer and heard it on the radio, i think it was the version where he was mumbling cuz his jaw was really fucked up and hadnt healed too much, and i remember the version in the video being a lil clearer, it was dope as hell tho and part of a large amount of dope music i heard that year
I remember seeing the video and thinking it was hot. But later, when I realized his jaw was actually wired shut and he was literally rapping "Through the Wire" I had to give him props.
When its all said and done, that may be one of Hip Hop's greatest rap deliveries. Think about it, his jaw was wired shut.
I really wasn't into it the first time I heard it but when I finally stopped and took the time to listen, I heard where he was comin from with the lyric and it grew on me. Having the visuals from the video made it grow on me too

I saw kanye at the United Center in Chicago on the glow in the dark tour and he dressed like luke skywalker and ran all over the stage and there were a ton of lights and it was bad ass. Probably my favorite show I've ever been to.
