Who killed it? Freeway-What We Do

They all spazzed on this but free sounded like he really would snatch the dishes outchya kitchen and give ya like ten while u yawning

The reason this is so hard is, with all due respect to beanie, solely because of freeway and jay.

Freeway had, to my ears, a totally unique style and was spitting with the hunger and fire that he knew this was his one big shot. If ppl were meh or lukewarm to his verses, like they had been to memphis bleek, for instance, it woulda been a wrap.

So that passion really comes through.

On the flip side, jayz came in and seemingly effortlessly cribbed off freeways style but added so many dope multis and puchlines and "gotta kill witnesses cause free beards sticking out"...."

The first time i heard this i played it back like ten times, from the top.

I mighta gone thru this song twenty times at first, before i even knew beans had a verse.

That boy Jay cold man. Just yuck

And i know everyone on here are rap geniuses, but at the time i know PLENTY of cats that didnt immediately catch that bullets breeze bayou line.

And I know this was 3 years before Drew Breez signed with the Saints but if yall want me to be petty, I'm a make it a triple entendre.

Bullets Breez by you like Louisiana mane

Fuck the actual facts. Ha

That's going in the books. Damn. Jay z predicted the future!

Jay's verse always stood out for me. ... especially how he intersects Free on the track. Probably freestyled.

[Freeway]

He won't blast 'til my stacks in order mang!

[Jay-Z]

...MANG! Lemme get 'em Free

U gotta acknowledge the order too. Once u hear Jay-Z verse, every time after that Freeways verse immediately becomes a set up for THE jay z verse. The entire song is a build up in anticipation to hear 'lemme git em free' .

The fact that noones really even mentioning beans verse just shows how crazy free and jay shit was cuz beans went in too "gotta get my soul clean..before they blow the horn like coltrane...still I cry tears of a hustler.."

On a side note, I have the 12" single of this record and Jay Z's verse was either edited out or its the original LP version without Jay Z.

The record says Jay Z is on it but it goes from Freeway's verse to Beanie Sigel's verse. And the funny thing is it took me a while to notice.

I always thought Freeway was spitting the realest shit of the 3 of them. I thought his flow meshed way better with that type of beat than Jay and Beans did. Ive heard Jay on other features cook better than his verse on this one.

I don't know how anyone could think free didn't have the best verse. it set the entire tone of the song
