Yeah, I'm from the South. We never got into that skating shit. Skating was a GA and north FL thing from what I remember. Everyone knows how different things are from region to region, but the truth is shit is real different from state to state.

I remember when I went down to FL for grad night in high school. We hit up the club, and all we see is dudes on the dancefloor doing the caterpillar and pretending like they are playing hopscotch and all kinda crazy shit. Me and my friends were like "What the fuck is going on?" Cause in SC, when you went to a party, the only dancing dudes did was getting up on chicks. We didn't do much solo dancing and nothing as crazy as the shit the Floridians were doing.

As for ATL, does anyone else find it funny that the city is like 10 times gayer now than when it was cool for dudes to have skate parties? lol

It was really a Georgia thing I guess. My wife always bringing up how they use to get down after a football game. SW Dekalb. In Louisiana where the drinking age was 18 in the club until 1994, we always had a preteen club to go to.

In Shreveport we had bounce music(New Orleans) and huge Cali influence.

Club Mercedes and something classic(Drastic) was always popping. Hit the neighborhood joints like the shopping center in Cedar Grove and the YMCA on Hearne Ave.

It wasn't just GA...niggas in DC and PG County were on the same shit...if you were young on the weekends you went from the skating rink to the go-go's...or the go-go bands would simply come play at the skating rinks and there'd be big ass parties...Crystal City and Wheeler Road Skating Rink were the 2 major ones...mainly because they were the 2 easiest to get too...
