Who Do You Think Made The Bigger Impact Of Their Own Genre: Kurt Cobain or Tupac Shakur

good question, an original thread for once.

I say Kurt - Nirvana stays in rotation on rock stations and music channels, new generations will continue to discover his music for decades to come. Pac has the same impact but to a lesser extent, less of his material stays in rotation and gets discovered by the youth and it will continue to age for the worse while Nirvana's music is more timeless.

basically, Nirvana created a genre/movement and had a legendary impact. Pac just came and went within a pre-existing formula, then was praised and hyped by everyone more after his death

I'd say about the same.....they were both loved, changed/affected the games in some way and both were legends whether you liked their music or not...

Not too familiar with Kobain other then the fact that he helped start a movement in Rock and he offed himself. I wonder If people have just HIM in there top 5 instead of Nirvana. If that were the case then this would be a solid argument If not Pac wins this hands down.

Kurt Cobain

He changed rock music and created a sub-genre of rock music and fashion.

I like Pac as much as the next guy, but he don't really compare to Cobain whatsoever other than the fact they died too young and were stars in their categories of music.

a lot of ignorant responses in here just because that man took his own life

i dont know enough about kurt kobains music or the alternative rock genre to give a fair answer

vote = 2pac

pac, he had the game on his shit b4 he died curt wasn't shit until he ate that shotguns ejaculation...... fool

Cobain impacted his genre while alive,pac ruined hip hop when he was alive and only became this world famous person after death

The answer is Kobain

Kurt. Rockers was dressing like chicks when he started this whole grunge thing. Its the first rock group I ever liked. Pac was doing what paid. If he would of signed with Puffy he would of had a shinny suit

Black people started Rock, so Cobain didn't do shit, nor did he mean shit to the genre. He's just a fiend that OD'd.

Pac had some songs that are straight up gems and timeless, so I'm rocking with Pac all day.
