Speakin only from internet experience as I aint from the usa...I feel like cuz the new era south comin up they do disregard some older shit because the south flourished for a good few years and comes with its own sound..obviously. East/west etc do seem slightly more open minded but also more defensive so that comes across as close minded. I'm more talkin internet of course but the amount of 'rza was a wack producer' topics I have seen over the years is a lot, but I aint ever see many 'yeah but who tha fuck are outkast b'.

But yeah whatever, it is what it is no one got time to listen to everything anyway even with dloads so people gona disregard certain shit. I'm from the uk anyway and just listen to whatevers good anyway so fuck yall

There's two ways to answer the question

1. New York City is more closed minded to West Coast rap than West Coast is to New York rap (although rap did start in New York so new Yorkers have a point if they don't like it).

2. The younger generation is more closed minded to the old school than the old school is to the younger generation. I try to keep up on what's hot but I doubt if the 17 year olds on this site are d/l ing Grandmaster Flash, Cold Crush and Run DMC.

In the past, I'd say the northeast...a lot of us especially the older cats really werent exposed to much outside of the region until a lot later.. Opinions and preferences were already formed.....Right now, shyt is a toss up.......I believe that this place is a microcosum of whats going on outside of the internet, so what you see out here is out there in some capacity....I see closed minded shyt coming from everywhere.....
