Marky Mark went platinum for the same reason Vanilla Ice went platinum. I remember when he came out. We were disgusted.

Only reason he got on was because his brother was in New Kids On The Block. After his album he became an underwear model for Calvin Klein. Then he switched to acting and never looked back. He had an album with him rapping and that album went platinum but he's not known for being a rapper. Thats my point.

I think/thought the purpose of this thread was for people that had a legitimate rapping career, respected in Hip Hop who went on to become actors. Markey Mark will never make anybody's top 100 rappers. I don't even think he'd make anybody's top 1,000 rappers.

Will Smith was known for being a rapper. He had a few solid albums that were respected in Hip Hop before he made the transition to acting. Ditto for Ice T, Ice Cube, Queen Latifah, Fredro Star, Ja Rule, 50 Cent, Snoop.

2pac was the other way around. As far as I know Juice came out before 2Pacalypse Now but I could be mistaken.

Queen Latifah Is a better actor that Will

Reasoning isn't stupid. Arnold Schwarzenegger is good at playing a certain type of role. He's good at playing an action hero. His range is kinda limited but he's good at certain roles.

Will Smith has more range and therefore he's a better actor than Arnold imo.

If you have two actors, actor A and actor B, and actor A does small independent movies that don't do well at the box office and actor B stars in blockbuster movies and gets $20 million per picture its fair to say that actor B is a better actor.
