How is his name insulting to black people? He's actually paying homage to the Egyptian god Thoth who the greeks call Hermes Trismegistus. Alchemy (Greeks definition) is mixing base metals and trying to turn them into gold. Alchemist the producer uses that as a metaphor of how he mixes records and turn them to gold (banging hip hop tracks).
