@menace pac 1st couple of albums weren't. Hard to beat. When I hear talk about a pac album it starts with all eyes on me. I'm one of guys that like it was written better than illmatic. Its not like jay big and nae didn't get better musically. Pac Imo didn't. Its like he just switched his beats.

Pac knew how to craft a song.

Biggie could spit but Diddy was crafting those hits

Biggie.....his catalog is too short.

Nigga could be stuck on a island wit the other 3s discography and not be tired of listening

Pac he didnt raise the bar rhyme wise at all. Jay big and nas= irreplaceable

pac had the best song writing in hip-hop in my opinion. It's better to reach more viewers then only reach a select demographic.

I respect your opinion but in mine if we add up all the wack songs from each he'd blow the rest out

pac had more classic songs then most rappers entire discographies, there's only maybe 1 song that I could consider wack that I've heard and it's still better then most of the songs rappers put out today.

No one was crafting songs like pac, I think cause everyone was too technical he made songs which could be comparable to other songs from other genres which gave a voice to hip-hop that people who did not understand the genre could understand. I mean if you put on some of jay-z or nas material in the car maybe alot of pple won't understand , but pac crafted songs where your mom, dad , grandparents who are not part of this generation or have no understanding of rap even could understand and feel. He was able to bridge that gap and I think that goes over a lot of peoples head.

Bold = you're a stan

Underline= You gassing the shit out of pac and you're giving him an excuse for being less skilled than the other names in the poll. Word, pac is making songs that can be comparable to other genres? Nigga what the fuck does that even mean? pac can make people with no knowledge of hip hop bob their head? Shit is irrelevant as fuck and so can soulja boy at a 13 year old white girl slumber party.

dude there are alot of rappers that are less skilled, just turn on bet and watch a countdown. Pac wasn't trying to be "lyrical" in the technical sense because his objective was not to do so. He could have done that but what makes him so original or his genius was that he didn't do that, he did the opposite of what every other emcee what doing at the time. If you don't understand that then that went over your heard. He was simple and basic but the whole idea was that he wanted to reach ordinary people hence why his songs were structured they way it is. He could be making songs like lupe, common or garbage like jay-z but dude wanted to reach alot of people. He could of done jay-z shit but he didn't sell out. Also while his songs were basic and he was just like every other rapper what made him different is that dude always put out decent songs aswell. For every hit em up you got a song like changes.

Also what I meant is that when you compare rappers or icons from different genres theres always one that stand's out. To me you have to transcend that specific genre.

bob marley, michael jackson, jamesbrown, jimmy hendrix, .....(blank)

who would you put in that catagorie

and pretty much this whole thread is a matter of opinion

Son, this is Hip Hop, not soul, rock, RNB, reggae music.

Hip Hop has the most technical artist for goodness sakes.

I don't see how jay is considered trash when jay at his lowest point is still nice as hell. Pick the worst jay album compare that to what's dropped in the last 4yrs and he still cracks top 5 imo but my vote still stands pac and his outlaws are the hell outta Here
