Blame it on the old heads that shitted on Public Enemy, but ran with NWA's image and "Niggas4Life" album that promoted "real nigga shit." It really harmed HIp Hop's creativity and eventually its spirit of rebellion. Before then, everyone wanted to be different. Since then, every nigga screams that they are a "real nigga" and they are "true to the streets" instead of being individuals.

NWA was "militant" but the gangsta element diluted it.

You seemed to forget one of their biggest songs was "Fuck The Police"..

NWA's first album is great commentary and a classic Hip Hop album. When they got carried away with being "a real nigga" is when they fucked up the minds of Hip Hop listeners. Half of the 90s shit that people talk about, is what Public Enemy fought against cause it re-enforces black folk stereotypes and limited our creative juices.

This is mainly the old heads to blame it on. When I see throwback threads about classic Hip Hop, PE is mostly left out or get a fraction of the attention.
