The only one on the list K dot can out rap is Pac. But Kendrick is a dope mc. He is lyrical, has content and creativity and can tell a story plus make great songs and albums. But he is not seeing Big. The only thing Kendrick has over Big is how he rapped about a variety a different topics. Everything else Big is better in. Ready to Die is the prototype to GKMC.

A lyricist was someone who raps and specialized in complex bars. Witty punchline, metaphors, double entendre, multi word syllable structure etc . Pac was a great Mc. But he wasn't a good lyricist. Kurupt who was on Death Row was a great lyricist. Pac got better before he died. But in the 90s he was far from a Superior wordsmith.

Niggas from the 90s can sing a Fresh Prince song word for word. Same with EPMD. Because they weren't lyricist. Or at least good lyricist. People should have a hard time singing a lyricist song, because it's complexity. And if you have something played on the radio 50 billion times, it makes it a lot easier to recite too.

These days the bar is lowered when it comes to what makes a great MC IMO. Kendrick is a great lyricist I won't front, but with the way the scene is now I'm not surprised when people say go above & beyond and say he's this or that. Kendrick has proven to be a great disciple of all the greats from the '90s & '00s no denying that. However to me he hasn't done anything groundbreaking to put him in a top ten of anything yet. He has that potential tho & he's gonna get there over time.

Biggie is the outlier. His two albums are highly influential & stood the test of time. He had all the tools of what a great MC should look, sound, & act like. Kendrick still has flaws in his game but not that many. Big gave us two gems & never had time to fall off or even slip up. The comparison is ridiculous.
