I can't even rank her she got nothing on Lauren Hill, Kim, Foxy, Da Brat and Mc lyte. She's just a gimmick, maybe if she would concentrate on her raps more then her looks she might get on my female list someday.

She's said numerous times that she doesn't want people to just focus on her looks. So maybe its just you that's concentrating on her looks.

Kim & Foxy in their prime was written by other people. They write their own shit nowadays and its horrible. Nicki >>> them 2 easily.

Foxy Brown from '95 - '96 was on albums and songs w/ LL Cool J, Nas, and Jay Z before her album dropped not counting the numerous R&B guest appearances she did. She was a member of The Firm which had a considerable buzz before her album even dropped even more so after The Firm was pretty much promoted throughout Ill Na Na when it dropped. Foxy appeared on the "I Shot Ya" posse cut w/ Prodigy, Keith Murray, and LL and people were buzzing about her verse. There was a bidding war to between the two biggest labels in Hip Hop at the time to sign Foxy: Def Jam and Bad Boy.

Kim had people ready to cop her album after her spots on "Player's Anthem" and "Get Money" and the "Get Money" remix.

I'm not even going into Lauryn Hill and Missy.

If you think that Nicki has more buzz than any female rapper before her, you either don't remember the '90's or are too much of a fan to acknowledge it.

Not better than Latifah, Roxanne Shante, MC Lyte, The Lady of Rage, Mystic, Jean Grae nor the female greatest in Lauyrn Hill. She's not that great. We've seen a lot of this before from Lil Kim. Okay, she gets Lil Kim and Foxy because their shit was ghostwritten...but Eve...I mean Eve's 1st 2 albums were better than Nicki's mixtapes. So I don't know where to rank her. As I've said before, I've seen this gimmick and she's using the atrocious Lil Wayne style of punchline rapping, so I don't expect much.

Most of the people Kim & Foxy have worked with early in their careers were only big in hip-hop. What records has Keith Murray broken? Lol..

Also Kim wasn't on that Barbie shit when she first came out, she was spitting hard like a dude and shit back then. Her second album, maybe, but she didn't take it to the level Nicki did. But whether she takes elements from Kim doesn't even matter. Every artist takes/is influenced by other artists. Michael Jackson is influence by James Brown, Usher takes elements from MJ, so on. Kim is one of the pioneers of female rap so of course she's gonna be influenced, but its not like she's biting. They don't even rap about the same stuff. =/

Another reason why Nicki get so much hate is because she's not the typical rapper or the typical female rapper. She doesn't go by the standard, take yourself too seriously rapper format. Its like people expect her to either rap like every other male rapper or do nothing but sell sex, and that's stupid. She raps similar to Ludacris and I've never heard anyone say "Luda raps like a retard". Niggas are stupid and closeminded.
