When Christians say they are " highly favored" what does that mean

I'm pretty sure God made us uniquely different with different minds, mentalities and purposes and gave us the opportunity to have freewill so we're not machines and our relationship that we have in Christ is a religion which makes us religious beings but again, you have freewill so you should be able to separate your relationship with Christ from your relationship with your family, work and the world. That's all I'm saying, if you have one thing dominating a majority of your life, that just makes you a square so have balance in your life bruh.

Your right, God did make us all with different minds, purposes, and mentalities. We are all fearfully and wonderfully made by the Lord. And yes, we all do have free will. Thats why we have a choice in this life. A choice to obey and follow God or a choice to disobey and reject God. After years and years and years of rejecting the Lord, I finally answered the knock at the door of my heart by Him. And now that I have come to a knowledge of the truth, I am choosing to follow and obey God as the Holy Spirit leads me. According to God, nothing is to come before Him. If anything comes before Him (family, work, the world) it is an idol. God makes this explicitly clear in His word. When you put God at the forefront of your life, everything else will naturally fall into line. Obeying God brings the blessing of God on your life. God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above whatever we can ask or think. Like I quoted Paul earlier, I am working out my own salvation with fear and trembling. The way I serve the Lord is different than the way you serve the Lord. Like you first stated, we are all different. I believe the key thing is that we serve the Lord. There is no greater calling in life than serving the God of this universe. God bless.

I think it's simply because we live in America, and Christianity happens to be the dominant religion in America, thus the one we are most familiar with.

Na, it's just a bunch of bullshit. Christianity isn't dominant in every country, people are just hypocrites in general and will not admit to it.

But I feel it aint right that just because we in america, and black, we have to be all christianity. its not fair. a-rabs can do islam. the chinese do their thing. the jewish do the jew thing. But Blacks are painted in a corner. either christ or allah.

What if we know there is a God but want to worship in the ways our ancestors did before slavemasters religion was forced upon us? how are we wrong for not being a dumb ass idiot sell out who is afraid to learn something because you dont want to go to hell. but yet, the jews, asians and a-rabs dont worship like you so are they going to hell to? and if so, why u never say nothin? why u aint trying to make them christians?

im done. pi

its a phrase i hear alot from southern black christians

"i'm blessed and highly favored"

to me, that sounds like you're saying God has given you alot because you're one of his faves

so is a kid in sudan "unblessed and non favored"?

they say this because its their ego. The religious have a tendency to idealize themselves just for a belief, regardless of whether they uphold righteous action lol, they are no different then other people, who are rich and look down on poor peeople. Its an ironic and yet delusional quality some of them have; your barely paying your bills, and somehow you are favored in Gods eyes? Really?! What type of foolishness is that, other than self delusion?

Its a type of mental slavery, to be content with poverty and believe you are greater than a man who has actualized his destiny in this world, it makes them feel better for the failure that is their lives.

No, but it is dominant in America. Most of us don't live in India, so most likely we wouldn't care about Hinduism since we're not familiar with it, and it doesn't affect us. (unless it happens to be the true religion) So when it comes to religion, Christianity is always the main topic of choice.

I have no problem with people worshiping other religions, I was just responding to Sourpatch's post about why only threads about Christianity are made.

Yea, it's definitely your number one priority to serve God but when you isolate the people that God places in your life (such as your wife, kids, work and the purpose that he's given you) just to prove how much more dedicated you are in God, that's not really normal and there is no balance. For me, I thank God for the lady he'd put in my life, the kids, the purpose and everything he's giving to me but at the same time, I know when to back off and actually relish the moments in life when I'm spending time with those people in my life while God already acknowledges and knows in my heart, where I stand. I see him as a person that I have that relationship with but at the same time, all my relationships have balance so I can't od with it cause to me, that shit just feels too square.

So why not attack catholics instead of christians. There's a significant difference between the two. Catholics partially believe that they can speak to God through a person of God (Pope/Priest) and get there sins forgiven in a confession but christians speak directly to God. The dominant religion in America is Catholicism just like in the Roman, Spanish and Byzantine empire. Christianity was split up into catholics and eastern orthodox and these empires strictly ruled by religion and government where the Pope and King stood side by side but was completely different from the eastern orthodox which originally was the lifestyle of Jesus's disciples and followers. The martyrs and the execution of people for not being christians was solely done by the catholics who were ironically the same people that signed the petition to allow slavery (and they painted pictures of a white jesus and white disciples) yet people have this whole idea of christianity misconstrued and generalized as those child molestors thinking the same way as us. There's different sects in every religion and that's really it.

It just seems like when people, especially athiest tend to attack religion their number one source is christianity, why not attack islam or some shit like that. Y'all call us hypocrites but y'all are more faker than us, y'all don't even know what y'all believe in but instead argue with each other on scientific theories for why such is such and who's really stupid. Sometimes I feel like smacking the shit outta them atheist mafuckers because it seems like 99.9% of them don't even know what the fuck their talking about.

Wrong. Protestant Christianity is the most dominant religion in the USA. Even so, seeing as how most posters on here are Black, most of us are probably more familiar with Protestant Christianity than Catholicism.

And the history lesson is kind of pointless. Most peoples beef with Christianity has nothing to do with anything you named.

There's different sects in christianity just like there's different sects in any religion but when some fucked up event in history happens in a particular point, everyone is to blame. Why not account all muslims for the attack at 911, it's all a bunch of hypocritical bullshit when you antagonize one religion for a majority of the world. It's phony and people will hide behind any kind of bullshit excuse when shit doesn't go there way.

Word, there broad generalization of their beliefs are to convince other's how stupid they are in what they believe in just to get ego points and a pat on the back. They even have devil worshppers that sit in the back of church taking notes just to disprove and manipulate that what they believe in is false so they get offended when some of them are called devil worhippers but fuck them faggots, they really are devil worshippers.

I used to be the main one going at everyone that posted something false. Its no point no more. People on here would have to be stripped of everything they think they know and start over. It makes me wonder what kind of pastors they had growin up

That's true but also some people choose to live their life on excuses so you can't convince them otherwise. They probably believe everything they've done wrong in life, they've had no choice in.

This pretty much sums it up, but Christians have to be the worst, I think it's funny that some of the most critical, judgmental, two faced people and in denial people proclaim themselves to be good Christians.

I have to agree. With the experiences I've gone through in life this has always been the case.

Or just make reference to anyone who claims to have belief in and claims to follow a Bible?

The no room for error
