Let's say this, eating is ingrained into everyone, but we can stop ourselves from eating can't we? Have you ever fasted before? This shows we can defy our physical desires as long as we will to do so. Do you believe in will? If so than you can do it, you can stop yourself from holding your breath, a little extreme, but you get the point, even suicide isn't something that humans should be able to do but there are societies buil that suicide is a good way of cleaning your family of your wrong doings.
