Whats the sense in giving a gift card instead of just giving cash?

The more i think about it the less sense it makes. Whens the last time you went in a store and your purchase came out to an even increment (50, 100, 150, etc).....not neva....so nlggas either end up going in there pocket to pay the difference or leaving with a stupid balance (1.53) on the gift card.

cash you dont have that problem.

and what about the gift cards to the stores you dont even want anything from....nlggas either end up selling the gift cards for about half the worth (i.e. wasting half of your money) or having to waste the money in a store they wouldnt even consider have been spending money in..

At a certain point, cash dont do shyt for you, b/c the minute you see cash you equate it to groceries/gas/take out, etc. Youll forget that quickly...

Yes, it is a good thing: i.e. like most nggas my weakness is shoes. But I wont buy some shoes for, say, $130. Even if you give me $100 cash. But if someone close to me knows that i fuks wit Aldo's, and gives me a $100 gc, i'll buy em. So in essence they have forced me to treat myself, without a)buyin some shyt that i wouldnt wear, or b) givin me cash that i would just pocket. Has nothing to do with 'can i afford it' its just how i'm wired (some call it cheap...)
