Showing my age. LOL!! Rappers Delight. I remember my homie playing it on 12 inch like 81 and was hooked. But what is also interesting is, we were breaking to "The incredible bongo bands apache". A year or so before. But we didn't even know the shit was Hip Hop.

LoL! I remember hearing it through My cousins and asking my Mom "Can we get that record?" and her telling me No. Fast Forward a few months and We're riding in the car. And "The Message" comes on, She Hushes me and my brother and turns it up. We all just sat and listened. I thought she didn't like that type of music, because when I asked for "Rapers Delight" she told me no. So I ask "Maw why you turn that up all loud and shit?" and her reply was "It has a message" years later I found out that was the name of the song. And decades later rap still has that ying and yang.
