What video game would make an Oscar Worthy movie?

God of War would go hard but it would have to be produced and directed by Peter Jackson, Zach Snyder, or James Cameron. I wouldn't mind seeing Assasin's Creed as a movie either. But once again it would have to be directed by one of those three directors.

I really feel they need to get away from having writers that haven't even played the game (or in some cases read the comic) to write scripts on these kinds of films. It seems obvious that whoever was in charge of the actual script only scimmed through the original material that it was based off of. For example Spider Man 3, Wolverine, X-Men 3. If I'm producing one of these movies i'm making sure whatever they write is gonna stay true to the original story for the most part. They can change up some stuff but important parts in the story should not be tampered with to the point where it becomes confusing or just plain out of context.

They're dead set on getting God Of War off the ground, Gears Of War is getting made, Shadow Of The Colossus is apparently going to be in 3D and Gore Verbinski is attached to Bioshock which doesn't inspire much confidence. No doubt they'll wreck every single one of those films. In other words I hate Hollywood

The only one I could see being Oscar worth is Metal Gear because of it's mix of good story, good acting required and action. It's like the perfect spy movie.

But of course Hollywood would just fuck it up.

Cliffy B who made Gears said that he was gonna be working closely with the pple makeing the film. i hope thats true because i think if game developers are having their work be created for the big screen its only proper that they be involed with the film process every step of the way. i think thats what developers need to start doing to make sure their creations dont get fucked over

Yo, I could see Tombstone being a great video game! Idea came from playing Red Dead Redemption the past week and currently watching Tombstone. Set that shit up like Red Dead but you play different characters throughout (Wyatt, Doc, etc.). The shootout at the OK Corral! Playing poker as Doc and talking shit the whole time! I can see when Wyatt walks out into that creek and shoots Curly Bill (in duel mode like in Red Dead), then after shooting him you got to go straight into Dead Eye to shoot everybody else on the bank! Then be Doc and duel with Ringo at the end. Then one last ride at the end for the rest of the Cowboy gang! Of course Kurt Russell and Val Kilmer would have to do the voices. Or just do a Doc Holiday game altogether based on Val's portrayal of Doc Holiday.
