Classic soul music has to be the most compatible ... Seemingly the most influential as well
I would put country as the the most non conforming to hiphop ... Now there has been some instances where the two have fused obviously the nelly Tim McGraw track and the dude cowboy Troy with big and rich had a little success but thats just a couple of solid pop songs I think looking at the core of country music and it's sound compared to hiphop you'll see two genres that just dont make a good mesh ... Instrumentation wise or vocally

Country Rap is just as successful as Rock Rap. Moderate, but not big, like R&B Rap has been.
Anyway, all genres can be blended with rap imo. I've heard Classical, Gospel, Jazz, Blues & Techno in it, with much success, along with the stables of Soul & R&B.

Hip Hop can pretty much go with anything you take old songs and sample them into a beat loop,slow down the tempo, speed it up etc. the most compatible would be R and B and Soul because they have elements of the hip hop sound. The Least compatible would be country just based on how it sounds and the intstruments being used in that genre, in my opinion just wouldn't go together well.

For the sake of the thread, and music in general, I don't think success should be considered more here than the actual quality of the music. Cross-overs and blends with country may not have been successful, but that does not mean they have less quality.

This is dope... I remember Em cuttin his ass for switching to country. For the sake of argument, he didn't really cross genres, seems like he just dived right into country. And songs like these are few and far between.
