Truth seeker, kind, helpful, great listener, caretaker, compassionate, humorous, honest etc..

I don't know if those are "gifts", but I apply it all to my life.

I've always been a caretaker, from taking care of my sick great-grandfather, to my baby sister back in middle school/high school, to being who I am now as a father to my children, even my wife when she's ill. Can't help but being helpful.

Being a truth seeker and combining that with my honesty, I don't usually let people slide with bullshit. I'm pretty blunt, even with my children. I don't baby talk them. I feel it's kind of a negative, though, at times, because it makes me come off as an asshole.

I know I make an impact on people's lives because of who I am, though, and through that, maybe that is my gift; making a long-lasting impression to those around me and it affecting them in someway that may help them through their day or life.

That's the kind of person I strive to be to my children. I don't want to be just known as "dad threw a ball around with us", but also, sort of as a man with a good philosophy and understanding. My mother and father were never like that with me, but my grandfather was and I enjoyed the shit out of it, even if I didn't always agree.

My gift is to be a great person and father and to hopefully shape lives for the better.
