Me and my bm/ex-wife was together I think 5 years before we got married and that shit lasted a nano second. I wasted 10 years of my life total going back n forth with her. After ending my 5 year relationship with my greatest (who still tries it hard anytime we see each other) I wanted to remain single (yes, single in every sense of the word be it mental or physical) and so I was for 3-4 years, by choice, as I wanted to just focus on our child and myself. Dating and/or starting anything new wasn't even a thought at the time.

Last year I hit the 3-4 year mark (single), got into a beautiful brief courting, the space and time shared was pure bliss. Took a lot from it.

I am not a serial dater so again, it has been about 9 months (single since). While there are (always interested and invested "candidates", I just didn't have the will or desire to entertain "dating."

This, for some reason, is cause for shock when being constantly asked "why are you single?"

I suppose some feel the need to constantly remain part of a couple and don't know how to be alone. Even in relationships it's important to have space and time to self.

As for right now? I'll keep you posted
