Hip Hop is too soft nowaydays.

When we gonna get another classic Grimmy album like The Infamous/Hell on Earth/Murda Muzik, Its Dark and Hell is Hot, and Get Rich or Die Trying?

Hip Hop has been in good shape especially last year. There were a lot of quality releases. Hopefully this year will be as good or better.

R&B hasn't been in good shape since the 90's. Every year since then, there's been 1-3 quality releases and the rest average or worse. The best artists only drop every so often, but it's quality. Then there are a lot inconsistent artists.

It's all about the grand scheme of things... Sure there are a few good artists out there but that's like saying there is so much nutritious food out there but you still are eating mcdonalds. It doesn't help the system. The world is still ingesting musical fast food over the full course meal!

The Rappers of today dont respect the Founders of yesterday .. Tomorrow is just going to get worse. Well ..
Hip Hop is Dead. Record labels have a lot to do with it, radio have a lot to do with it, and even us posters play apart in it.

The game is trying its best to grow up more, but nigga's are flat out whack.

80% of the music is weak, half ass or straight up trash.....

Its alright. Just gotta accept the fact that it'll never be the same as the 90's. I'm not talking bout the sound of music but quality and diversity. Shit just ain't executed at the same level like back in the day. I still have faith in artists like Jay Electronica, Nas, Big KRIT, Young Jeezy, Cam'ron, Big Boi, Rick Ross.... I like Nicki Minaj. But a lot of these artists that I do "like" their music, its clearly not the same level. Like when I hear a new Wale record I like the shit and its dope but it doesn't have the same replay value as an old Busta Rhymes record. So it is what it is... the game ain't in a terrible place though.

R&B might be terrible though.

Lots of interesting perspectives. I can't speak for radio...lol I haven't listened to mainstream radio in prolly 2 years.

When you go beyond the mainstream the offerings and talent is plentiful for rap/hip hop. But like someone else had said, it is kinda crazy that you gotta search out the good stuff. I'm passionate about the music though, so I don't mind.

As far as current R&B goes, beyond the Janelle Monaes and some of the neo-soul cats, I can't really get with it. However, it's so much older music from the 60s-80s that's so fly and so soulful (check your fave sample) you can collect for a lifetime and still not have all the good stuff.

Both could be better but True Hip Hop is out there. It's not found on your average radio station, though. R&B needs help. Bring back true vocals and talent and less auto tune.

Hip Hop is slowly repairing itself the major label is about to die off forcing rappers to rap even better and have solid fanbases to truly last. Rappers like Curren$y , Smoke Dza, Wiz Khalifa, Big Krit are building solid core fanbases that arent wavering. Look at the cool kids and pac div dudes had buzzes that were soley based on non hiphop elements like clothes, and sneakers and are no where now. Wale who was somewhat in there category got way better and is improving even though he has made commercial songs he still has a core fanbase soleybased off his mixtapes. Hip Hop was harmed by internet but its adapted to it and now its the most powerful tool around

Pretty much this...

There are many talented new cats (Wale, Cole, Electronica, Roc Marciano) who add some fresh air into the game and some veterans still come up with great material (Nas, The Roots), so it's not bad with hip-hop. AS for R&B thanks to Riri, Usher and Chris Brown it sounds more like Euro-trash pop-disco bullshit than something we called R&B before. Thank God for few artists like Dwele, Janelle and Erykah who still keep it real.
