Spice 1 goes on the same list as Tech N9ne, Brotha Lynch Hung, Devin the Dude, UGK, etc. as far as legendary rappers who are criminally slept-on. I'll admit I haven't heard probably, his last 2 albums. Ever since he went independent, his distribution has not been up to par. That doesn't mean I think he should've stayed at Jive, which has a history of destroying good artists (Too $hort, Kid Rock, E40, UGK, etc.). One of my favorite Spice 1 albums is actually The Last Dance, which I think came out in 1999-2000. That album had some great features from UGK, C-Bo, Bad Azz, MJG, etc. and top-notch production. I strongly recommend peeping the Spice 1 track, "Chocolate Philly" ft. MJG from that album - classic. Two of my favorite Spice 1 features are Tear Da Club Up Thugz "Wet Party" and Devin the Dude's "Don't Wait" off of his first, self-titled album. Spice is the master of what I call that "rasta-style" fast rappin, kinda like what Lynch does sometimes. I've always felt, Spice, like so many other good rappers, has been the victim of shoddy, weak promotion throughout the majority of his career.
