Sleezy insurance agent

Pros: it's a great company, money's great especially since I'm officially licensed, coworkers are great no drama!

Cons: probably no chance for promotion it's a broker and the only positions above are the bosses!

I have options though, I'm still deciding if I should go to law school in the fall, I've been accepted to two schools so far for the fall and wait listed at one. The only problem is I was rejected by my top choice! :(

So part of me wants to stay where at another year, save money, pay off undergrad, and retake the LSAT and hopefully get into my top choice or better!

Just got laid the fuck off 20 minutes ago.....last man on first man out.......company going nowhere fast.....smh

Story?

Started 2 months ago, trained for a week to be a cylinder filler for a gas company....literally was getting paid to come to work and sleep and go to McDonald's whenever I got hungry.......company been losing a lot of customers because of the oil issues and shit....I would literally come in at 630am off at 230pm...got most of my sleep at work.....they hired all kinds of salesman to bring in money but ain't shit shaking....so they called me in and said "yeah we brought you in for a specific job, we losing customers/money and this location isn't looking good going forward. We're filling more cylinders than we're selling. So since we hired you recently the last man in is usually gone first.....said "cool" and then they said we'll still pay you the rest of the week........so "now I got the time Cuz" so I just started a new season in 2k15.....smh

Electrician.

Pros: job security and the average wage is supposed to jump up nearly $10/hr over the next 15 years.

Overtime out the ass.

Cons: racist ass honkeys, and mexicans who want to treat this like it's Mexico.

Am I good at it? Too fucking good at it sometimes. They always call me to fix other peoples fuck ups which is damn near a con in and of itself.

you union?

Fuck no I like to actually have work. Lol

Occupation: Senior Process Engineer

Pros: Ability to work from home. Manager's pretty chill, and ok with anything just as long as you get your assignments done. We pretty much only work half days on Fridays. Job security. Fast growth in the company. Pay is great, and the company's training program is great. Paying for me to go back and get my MBA.

Cons: Job location is in the middle of nowhere, which caused me to want to live closer to Atlanta, which makes my commute a bitch.

I enjoy my job, and I'm good at it. I'm already Green Belt certified, and I'm in the process of getting my Black Belt. Once I get that, there's numerous directions I could go. Once I get it, I can pretty much name my price for any other company. I graduated from college last year, and started out as an Entry level IE. Been a year, and just got promoted to Senior.

40k/ year base pay working in a warehouse distributing medical supplies to various hospitals. My wife and I don't have any children so that money is good enough for me. Good job security. Yearly raises and quarterly bonuses. Decent benefits. I been there around 5 years. 20 paid days off per year. I'm one of the best at what I do and had a chance to become a supervisor but I decided to not throw my hat into the ring because I realized the lil bit of extra money they give you isn't worth all the bullshit they would want me to do. I love my current situation. Would take a lot for me to switch jobs at this point. It only takes me 15 mins to get to work every day which is awesome. Some of my coworkers act like full grown bitches tho but it's cool. lol

So things changes since my post this afternoon. I'm still waiting to here back from two jobs but I decided to ask my manger about moving into a different department that will pay more. They offered me the job when I left the first time but I said no because t was microsoft-heavy and I avoid microsoft like the plague. I finally decided to suck it up and go for it since I like the company that I work for and I'm sure these guys would probably rather give me that job than watch me leave again.

very niche and i am well known....i think i good at it

Correctional Officer at a maximum security state prison. I've worked Death Row, mental health, & segregation. I'd say I'm pretty good since I've yet to get my ass whooped.

Pros: Consistent, Predictable schedule. We work on a 2 week rotation: 1 week you're only off Wed & Thur, the next week you only work Wed & Thur. I have a copy of my work schedule for the entire year on my fridge. It def makes it easy planning around school, family functions, vacations, etc.

Ample overtime if you're willing to work it.

Cons: I deal w/ murderes, rapists, gang members, drug dealers, pedophiles, etc all night. The bullshit I put up w/ is endless.

I just put in an application w/ the nearest federal prison though b/c I've got a few connects there who told me that they're on a major hiring spree right now and they could put in a good word for me (sometimes it's who you know). Starting pay of $43K/yr w/ a $5K raise after your 1st year.

I'm about 20 credits from finishing my bachelors in Natural Resources w/ a concentration in Parks, Recreation, & Tourism Mngmnt. If I get this federal corrections gig I'll probably try to ransfer over to US Customs after about 2-3 years.

I am a Voluntary Benefits Specialist, basically processing Disability Claims.

Pros: Flexible hours, can work from home, less strict work environment, company giving back to those in need through charity events, offer tuition assistance

Cons: trying to meet a quota, but it is necessary. Not really any overtime, especially salary so doesn't matter how much extra time you put in

I'm pretty good at what I do. I'm always learning and trying not to think of things in a black / white area but seeing the gray area. I want to take a few LOMA classes since my job pays for the classes and will be another addition on the resume. I also want to finish my MBA and use tuition assistance the company offers. I took 5 classes with a previous job I had for free so I want to finish the MBA up for close to free.

There is definitely room for growth. There are different levels to Voluntary Benefits Specialist, all the way to level 5. I want to eventually move to processing Life claims.

GOAT thread.

Media analyst

Pros: I'm readin' world news all night so I'm a lot more in the loop than I was. Politics, media's inner workings, sport. Hours, work seven straight nights then get the next week off so I get a lotta time to fuck about. Pay is good for what I do and the little effort it takes to do it and I deal with big corporations like Facebook so I can remix it so it looks nice on the 'resume', as you guys call it.

Cons: Dead-end job. Night work. Team leader is a spineless cunt. Completely unfulfillin'. Team leader told me a story the other day about how he met a guy who worked for one of our clients. He told my team leader they use the package we send them every mornin' as a door stop smh

Workin as caretaker in a home for disabled ppl since a few months

Pros: It's fun to work with these guys. Lil ish makes em happy, they dont really care about money power respect etc. and live in their own world. work is pretty diverse.

Cons: Gotta work weekends sometimes. Cant have a really bad day, they wouldnt understand it if you act cold or brandnew. Can be exhausting at times to listen to all them stories.

Gotta have empathy and patience for sure.

Not a 100% sure if i wanna stay in this field but thus far i like it

I'm a production worker making 14.20 right now

I get a 25cent raise every 6months

Pros: no pros its a factory job duh

Cons : sometimes we work 2 weeks straight that includes Saturday and Sunday

Advancements

I can advance but don't want to the more u advance the more responsibility u get

An the more liable you are if shit hits the fan

Were a company run by Koreans what you expect
