true dat, thanx for clearing that up but at the same time that's the point i was making. when hip-hop WAS mainstream on black radio it still had that realness and authenticity and integrity. you could hear BDP on the same show as dre and snoop, or the geto boys bumpin' then right after than the pharcyde. remember when stations had the "rush it or flush it/smash hit or trash it" segment of their shows where they let the FANS dictate which new artist/song was the shit? you don't hear that anymore, all we got is rich assholes telling us what's hott and dumb-asses follow those trends like the sheeple that they are. personally i don't listen to the radio and haven't for a loooooong time. somehow i had a knack for unheard music and knowing about it before they blew up along with my brothers, we always seem to be at the right place at the right time. it takes alot to impress me, unlike some of these so-called hip-hop fans on the IC i don't fall for the flash-in-the-pan fly-by-night gimmick. i have to wonder how old some of these folks are on here the way they react and talk about the music scene. when you don't study history you're doomed to repeat the same mistakes others have made and it shows in the disrespect and ignorance of some posters comments.

yeah man

i honestly dont think enuff people research OUR music/.culture

they get hyped for somethin they think is new then get let down

jus take time out to study trends & cycles and then you will see whats really goin on. i also feel that people want too much at once and the internet/tv has spoiled them.

if it isnt being shoved down they're throats online or on tv its like they dont know about it.

all this realness and authenticity goes back to the fans being fuckin retarded tho
ain't nobody tryna hear that shit
a nigga that ain't ballin ain't tryna hear about somebody else not ballin
rap is like a movie to these niggas
just like my nigga with the racks on racks nigga again
nigga gon tell me i don't like the song cuz i ain't got them racks in my pocket
i'm like.... nigga you work at fuckin mcdonald's
i done spent your whole check on 1 pair of shoes
don't either 1 of us got them racks
niggas is just plain ignorant now-a-days

and this is where "the game" gets distorted

you got those folks who jus want the entertainment and are motivated by hustler rap,
then the game gives an ass load of hustler rap and you have people sayin thats its too much, its unreal

maybe im jus wayyy different than my brothers and cousins around me but it is a common thing for someone to tell me they are motivated by ross or jeezy. not motivated to sel drugs but motivated to get money in general. i jus dont get that shit.
i dont want no musician portraying a negative character and then tryna make a whole fukkin career out of it.
i call them niggas robo gangstas. like they jus on repeat. how you got 4 str8 albums of the same material.
