bootcheese3000;2804747 said:true dat, thanx for clearing that up but at the same time that's the point i was making. when hip-hop WAS mainstream on black radio it still had that realness and authenticity and integrity. you could hear BDP on the same show as dre and snoop, or the geto boys bumpin' then right after than the pharcyde. remember when stations had the "rush it or flush it/smash hit or trash it" segment of their shows where they let the FANS dictate which new artist/song was the shit? you don't hear that anymore, all we got is rich assholes telling us what's hott and dumb-asses follow those trends like the sheeple that they are. personally i don't listen to the radio and haven't for a loooooong time. somehow i had a knack for unheard music and knowing about it before they blew up along with my brothers, we always seem to be at the right place at the right time. it takes alot to impress me, unlike some of these so-called hip-hop fans on the IC i don't fall for the flash-in-the-pan fly-by-night gimmick. i have to wonder how old some of these folks are on here the way they react and talk about the music scene. when you don't study history you're doomed to repeat the same mistakes others have made and it shows in the disrespect and ignorance of some posters comments.

i honestly dont think enuff people research OUR music/.culture
they get hyped for somethin they think is new then get let down
jus take time out to study trends & cycles and then you will see whats really goin on. i also feel that people want too much at once and the internet/tv has spoiled them.
if it isnt being shoved down they're throats online or on tv its like they dont know about it.
