I love panel interviews bruh. I look forward to them shits. To me, I just get to impress more than 1 person at a time. Kill 'em all in one fell swoop yo.

Another thing I've done in the past (including the job I have now) is stand up during my panel interviews. Sitting down for a panel interview is way to formal for me, I like to be relaxed. I was told that in the 10+ years this Corporate Employee Program has been running, I'm the only person who has ever stood up. Had them eating out of the palm of my hands bruh.

Naw, not really. The thing is many companies use staffing agencies because it is easier.

The thing is the staffing agency is a business. It has to make a profit. It charges the company a flat rate and pays you a percentage out of that money...but the thing is, you don't have to worry about that..don't worry about that. You should be more concerned with the fact you are working collecting a paycheck and also showcasing your skills so the employer will hire you directly.

Companies use staffing agencies because the agencies do all the groundwork for them. The interviewing, background screening, drug testing etc. The only thing they have to pay is that rate. And honestly it aint much higher than what the agency paying you. If the agency paying you 12 bucks an hour they probably getting paid 14-15 from the company for you. They also have to pay your worker comp and any other insurance you are eligible for out of that 3 bucks(another perk for the company using em.). Not unless you are filling some high price position, like a ceo, or engineer, they only making pennies off of you. They get their money off volume. Many agenices have contracts with warehouses and whatnot where they have to fill hundreds of positions.....those pennies start to add up. Also, its easier for a company to get rid of you with an agency. If you aint what they looking for many will look in your face, smile, say "nice job" and then phone the agency and say " don't send that motherfucker back"..or something along those lines.

They agency does and most times they will still get you a new job because they are aware some of their clients have horrendous working environments....also the more people they have working the more money they make.

I have learned and experienced some pretty cool stuff from working with staffing agencies throughout the years. Never got hired on directly with the person using the but I have used those newly acquired skills to earn permanent employment elsewhere.

we should make a list jobsin your area of companies that you know for sure pay a decent living wage.

I will start off

Frito Lay/Pepsi- Really frito lay...Im in charlotte and they paying permanent employee at that plant $16 bucks and up.

even the sanitors(janitors who clean machines) Pick packers and warehouse personnel getting $17.43 an hour

I consider them the standard but really the other companies like Snyder lance, kelloggs, etc pay somewhere in this range.

Daimler(Freightliner)Chrysler-layoff like crazy but start folks off at around $15..over that if work an offshift. Automotive manufacturers usually have the union so the pay ranges from $15-27 an hour depending on how long you been there and what you do

Refinery/Terminal Jobs(marathon, motiva,shell,)-jobs where you work at a refinery plant or working at fueling point on the pipeline for larger trucks pay right at $20 and better

Metal service centers- entry level metal working jobs where you can learn to run a shear/saw/laser. etc in my personal experience pay $15 and up.

machining shops- varies with a year of two of experience you can easily command something in the high teens but more likely $20...If you got an cnc experience you are only limited by how much experience you got...talking in the 30's potentially.

Dump truck drivers/class b /garbage trucks..-$15-20ranges. City trash guys getting close to 20 bucks while the local delivery guys for mattress firm getting that 13-15 bucks.

dock workers-southeastern, averitt, jb hunt, Conway-part timers getting 15-16 while full timers forklift drivers getting in the 20's

millwrights/installers- if you are a true blue millwright who installs the machine electrical, foundation and all you getting at least $23....any other specialized installer of anything getting at least something in the low teens..

These are all jobs and industries I have experience in and a lot of companies I have worked for..I got straight from the employer and giving it to you.

Also, don't know of these jobs require a college degree. There were some aptitude tests and mechanical know how is a must for some.

Also Im in charlotte so I consider $15 a decent living wage. 30,000 a year for a single person no kids.

I know y all with families or living up north...or just used to /want more shaking ya head at me. Also almost every company I ve worked for has had opportunity to do more than just be a production worker....I had superivsors and managers who used to be grunts now they making good money doing something else.

Whenever you get an interview with a big company, make sure no one else is around. I had an interview recently with a huge company, it was a hangouts interview with 3 top dogs. My sister decided to bring her kids for lunch while I was doing it and her son kept coming into the video and I didn't get it. They basically told me, due to background noise and kids running around, you will not be offered the position.

Why would you bring kids to a job interview?

Because my sister who insisted to come over even after she was told, I have an interview with Google. Decided to sit here, listen and her son kept coming into the video. Then basically said, you didn't get it because it wasn't meant for you.

A little sick and tired of my current job....just came in to add...dont be afraid to move outside your comfort zone. Me personally, im considering up and moving if the money good enough. This also applies to working environments and jobs...threadstarter wants to work in a particular fueld but he may need to take a more unconventional route.

I am doing this very soon either before or after I graduate. I don't have any close relatives in Texas. Since I am very adamant about this move then my approach will be to apply for jobs that pertains to my degree (most definitely) & any kind of manual labor jobs, maybe temp jobs etc. So I can first get my feet cemented on Texas's soil then I'll build from there
