Chike;1608059 said:God is the law of physics. God is how the universe and everything within it operates. From molecules to solar systems to galaxies. People back then didn't have our modern scientific terms, so they used their own terms.
parallelrhymes;1608071 said:Yes I have noticed, that is the reason for my answer...
which is why God was created by humans...God is the answer to all questions for a lot of people...

Chike;1608146 said:We probably don't even know half of what there is to know about the universe.
Young-Ice;1608156 said:God is a metaphor used to explain existence. without god, man had no answers. Now that man has other answers, he can start to abandon his older ideas. (or at least some will)

BiblicalAtheist;1607720 said:This thread is a three part inspiration, one is from this post:
The other was this part of a book called "Seth Speaks":
"Only a portion of your entire identity is "presently" familiar to you, as you know. Therefore, when you consider the question of a supreme being, you imagine a male personality with those abilities that you yourself possess, with great emphasis upon those qualities you admire. This imagined god has therefore changed throughout your centuries mirroring man's shifting ideas of himself."
And lastly from various wonderings about why humans devise hero's to live up to.
How likely is it that this god we believe in is actually a faint perception of our 'future' selves? These ideals we hold to being an actuality for mankind down the line? Is that what "god" really is?

BiblicalAtheist;1609732 said:In your personal experience, what is god?
toktaylor;1609765 said:o.k in one sentence...i believe there are some truth in what i posted, that god is an absolute energy of light that became aware, awareness led to purpuse, which brought forth creation. the primary created form, intelligent beings, are the the light being manifested in physical form to experience creation before returing to the source.
DoUwant2go2Heaven?;1609766 said:The short answer is God is holy.
And one day every single being who has ever lived will stand before Him and behold His majesty. I pray that you will be on His side when that day comes. God bless.
BiblicalAtheist;1609777 said:I could agree to much in your previous post, but have you personally experienced what god is, assuming there is a god to experience of course?
everday...by looking in the mirror, by staring in awe at his creation, the sunrise, the stars in the sky, trees plants, animals...nature...love, hate, wars, peace...friendship, thought, speech, the internet, good, bad, evil....FREE WILL!!....all is an extension of GOD.
