What if Wiz had signed to MMG?

He wouldn't Have sold as many records or been with Amber Rose if he would have signed with MMG.

Just look at Lupe Fiasco's situation and the direction of his music being on Atlantic, they have a PoP formula that moves units.

The good thing about being in a crew with your label situation is the freindly competition that keeps your completive juices flowing and your sword sharp, it's less chance of you getting pussy-whipped and becoming. Pop-tart.

Co-sign this tho.
Wiz is basically the only one of the new crop of rappers who is his own boss. He's not under anyone.

remember ross sent him the offer?
what if he had taken him up on that offer?
would there be any gay ass "party all day, party all night blah blah blah" type songs?
or would it be more in the kush and oj vibe?
wiz ended up signing with atlantic and while he's seen much success his style is ultra homo now

Wiz was making those types of songs before he signed with Atlantic, remember his very first single "Say Yeah'...

He Not as hungry as he can be. Plus his subject matter is limted now becuase all the stuff he ounce rapped about and was against, he is now doing SMH. The las time I heard Wiz snapped was Im On with the Trae the truth. The nigga ned to move back to pitssburgh, hook up with johnny juliano, big jerm, and get hungry and humble agin. New Wiz sucks bad man. Belive me, Wiz was my favorite rapper b4 anyone even knew who he was SMH.

the bold seems to be why alot of his "old fans" don't like him now, simply because he's mainstream...truth be told while lacking in quality, the types of songs on kush and OJ, burn after rolling etc. are on Rolling Papers...the nigga was singing and making pop songs then too

Wiz Khalifah is not his own boss, his boss is a white-Jew bitch named Julia Greenwald.

She's the one that told Lupe Fiasco to STFU, give her 25% of his touring and let her pick the Pop singles of her choice for his album.

Is it any surprise that Lupe and Wiz both dropped the albums that they did?

"he'd be this or that" "he'd be better of with them," but yet he's more successful than Ross even, not overall, but he's has bigger singles than Officer Ricky ever had in his whole career, made more money with his debut than Billy Bob did on his debut.

Now dude got in the game to make a living and be successful but it's than he should've done what work for yall, mind you what work for yall is all about who please your ear and blog on this IC crap all day, yet he starving and barely making money. Dude made ten mil, let me see Wale or Meek Mill even make the Forbes list under MMG, not happening.

Get a life. A rapper's career is their own choice and what works for them.

Is Wiz under another rapper? Like Cudi, Wale, Big Sean, Cole, Drake, BoB? All whom are proteges of a superstar rapper. Wiz is not. He does his own thing, what he does with the label is a different dynamic. And i'm pretty sure Wiz has said a bunch of times he made Roll Up all on his own, no label politics involved. Like one dude said, while lacking in some quality, Rolling Papers is really not THAT much different than Kush & OJ, BAR, Flight School etc.

He would be on his Cabin Fever shit

the only correct answer in this thread

Wiz' style didn't match with those types of beats so its best that he isn't with MMG

Of course Wiz isn't in a protege position, why should he be when this is his third album unlike Cudi, Cole, Drake, Wale, Big Sean, & B.O.B who are all on their debuts or sophomore projects??

Sometimes it's beneficial to have a mentor who is already established so you can navigate properly through all the pitfalls, quick-sand, and quagmires that you encounter being an artist.

Look at the horrible reviews that "Rolling Papers" got from nearly every reputable publication and the disappointment from the fans.....now look at the mixed reviews that Lupe got and how his album sales dropped from his last album. I think Atlantic is a horrible label for a rapper, they try to hard.

However, Wiz has a Gold album and a 3X platinum single even if most people didn't feel the direction of the project, and now we get to see if he will alienate his core fan-base with his next project which most likely won't have the strength of a "Black and Yellow" to lead it off with.
