We got 107.5 WGCI and Power 92.3 here in the CHI and they play the same thing every hour like clockwork. The only time they mix in some new music is during the mixes and that only lasts about 15mins. I was talking to DJ V-Dubb, a very popular DJ here and he told me that basically no station anywhere decides there radio formats, it's the program directors who decides what gets on air and what doesn't. He rarely does mixes anymore because he says that the pay for doing those is insulting to a quality DJ. I listen to Sirius if I want to listen to radio, this stuff they playing now on radio is monotonous

We just got a new station not to long ago called "G 98.7" This station plays a good mix of Afro music, from hip hop, RnB, Soul, Funk, to Jazz. Turned it on and heard James Brown, flow 93.5 don't be playing that.

and they play the same 2 dancehall songs over and over,

I feel you on that, I like V-Dubb cuz he always tell it like it is and he supports the artists. I don't like Moondawg, he garbage..dude made a career off being a DJ Drama clone
