Currently right now I'm reading this book called Tokyo Underworld : The Fast & Hard Times of an American Gangster in Japan. It's the true story of Frank Zappenetti, an Italian from East Harlem who ended up in Tokyo, working in the underworld among some of Japan's biggest mobsters. Great read and it shows how post WW2 how prostitution, racketeering, the yakuza, virtually brought Japan to be the world's largest second economy. Corruption and democracy go hand in hand. Check it out!
