Perhaps it is. The First thing that comes to mind for me is, i think he actually gained more WHITE fans after the tapes were released. It would seem it was as if, he separated himself just enough from Blacks so, whites looked at him as, safe. The Blacks didn't totally have him. It was as if to say he was just it in for the Money and doing business with Blacks was just that business as usual.
