Hear me out. I'm in the cave with only a pistol and like 19 rounds. Can't leave the cave or the mission restarts. Is my only option to backtrack, or can a find some elephant rifle in the cave or some tricks I don't know?

Use the Yellow leaves to make Animal Repellant. Use it so the bear can't attack you. Then shoot it.
