What Are The Alternatives To Voting?

That's a tough question

IMO most alternatives to voting would require the complete destruction and reconstruction of the current system

The only way for change in this country is through legislation. Foot stamping, yelling, marching, wishing they will have a change of heart will never result in change. We have to learn the system and get involved to use it for our advantage.

Nah legislation hasn't really accomplished anything directly for black people and that trend will continue because black people don't have leverage in this country

Historically and naturally change only comes through action. Legislation is all in the mind, legislation is not action, but it's the action that actualizes. Legislation is the want. Action is the will.

@playmaker88

If we're not out here discussing and applying solutions in our real life, then what are we really doing?

I cosign OP. Anyone who says otherwise is naive.

or maybe just views the world a little different from you ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

i personally believe democracy is the best governing system we have as a society so far and voting comes with that ,and its all a working progress till we get the perfect or close to a perfect union.

Just want to add......................They either press feelings, wack, troll, abuse, or spam when you out-debate them and they're unable to respond your posts.

I can see why people don't vote however I can't support it. You vote for the best option and use the situation to the best of your ability.

Revolution is something that will likely all ways fail because no one has a plan of what happens after just look what happened with the Arab spring and occupy movement no one could agree with the direction they wanted to take so it failed. We have a vision of what we want how we achieve it but no vision for the aftermath

Phuck a vote

Establish wealth

That's how you get a change. I think them Asian-Americans lag in voting, but they got shops set up every where and finna be the wealthiest group sooner than we think. That's your answer....

Asian Americans are the best-educated and fastest-growing racial group in the U.S. and if current trends continue, they may also soon become America’s wealthiest racial group.

Families of Asian Americans have seen the most significant increase in wealth in the past two decades, even eclipsing Caucasians in median incomes, according to the most recent study by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.

There's more links out there like this one and about them not being inclusive to voting.....

see umm here is the thing the asian american experience is not Black experience here in America..you cant buy your way to freedom.. you can buy your way to obliviousness though

I wouldnt try to overthink it. Nobody cares about a nonvoter. Not even in a derogatory way but more like in an irrelevance way. At least where the political process of electing people goes. Nobody's interested in catering to nonvoters, they cater to and try to court voters. I dont think there are so much "alternatives" to voting but there are definitely things you can do outside of voting. At the same time nonvoters are irrelevant to voting issues off top. So i guess if someone isnt voting, concentrate on what they are doing not what others are doing. Same thing as usual.

I don't vote.

I make a very conscious decision not to vote. I believe that actively participating in a system of oppression is actively participating in my own oppression. I do consciously participate in what I believe to be my own and our "Freedom" and "Truth" through action though. I'm pretty active in my neighborhood and community in various ways, but I don't vote. I can't hold someone else accountable for my changing my circumstances and conditions. I have to hold myself accountable and actively and consciously change those conditions.

No matter what any policy or political outcomes there will be, I will always strive to position myself for success.

Is voting a way for us to avoid personal accountability in our lives? Because if everything goes wrong, it's someone else's fault. I get to blame you. But when things go right, well, I was the one that chose that position for you to make things right.

I believe action changes things. Action only. It's the peoples actions that create these so called rules and policies.

So, community comrades. Can we change things without voting? How?

You ever thought about getting rid of the citizenship?

Hmm.... what does that entail, and what are the benefits?
