Niggas clownin'. I been there bruh. Tryna figure out my first suit.
Here's the deal, no matter the suit, you're gonna spend about 100 or more in tailoring. That said, a menswearhouse suit is perfectly fine for a first suit. but don't make the mistake I did and have it tailored their. They suck. Find a private tailor mom and pops. My moms put me on to my tailor and he's a G and a half. 70 year old spanish dude had his shop for 40 years. Dude is an artist with the clippers.
Also, you want the finest wool possible, but make any wool is better. No viscose, no polyester, etc.
Also, get a nice medium weight until you have grip to have winter suits summer suits, etc. For now, don't worry about stuff like what kinda of lapel you like, center v. side vents, etc.
State explicitly that you want a quarter inch of shirt showing under your jacket sleeve. Always have them chalk the pants, don't use a pair of pants you like the length of. I like my slacks a little bit higher than my jeans, so when I cross my legs the socks show a nice bit(swaggin' on deez niggas). Don't get black. Navy or gray, but not black. If you hav eone suit, you don't want it to be black. First option gray, then navy, then black if you must.
Most important fit is shoulders. if a jacket is too big in the midsection, it can be taken in, but shoulders can't really be touched, so make sure the shoulders fit. When you go to menswearhouse, act like you know what you're talking about. They'll treat you with more respect.
Just a recap
Gray or navy suit
Plan to spend at least 100 in fitting
Get an independent tailor
Great fitting cheap suit>>>>ill fitting armani suit. Fuck what nahnigga say
P.S. 2 buttons preferably, but no more than 3. No 1 buttons, you look like a poser if you do leave that to the hipsters who write for fashion mags. With 3 button suits, the buttons go in this order "sometimes, always, never" with regard to when they should be buttoned.
Follow those rules my nigga and you'll be a dandy muhfucka.
