corporations are not going to choose to make less money for the public good we can either learn to live with it and adapt or cry and do nothing

in the long term it would cost more to maintain the robot. preventative maintenence and 24hour correctives cost money.

If that's the reason then Ok, but if they can make more profit using automation then i also think that's ok as well and they should fully embrace this technological option.

Look, THIS Change could be better for the consumer anyway. if robots make the food then there should be less risk of people spitting in the food we could get our fast food quicker cleaner and more efficiently.

Employed human beings are being replaced by robots.........

That's a bad thing.

maybe those human beings should obtain better skills one of the only thing i can justify huge government spending on is schooling and eduction.

You sound like a typical cac. Let a robot take your job and your ability to put food on the table and I bet you have a change of mind

you worried about people spitting in your food because your belligerent ass is the type to berate the fast-food workers before you order

If they have a bad attitude what do you expect??? i know they work hard but why do i have to suffer their eye rolls and smirks???

Sounds like issues typically prompted by low morale... low morale usually caused by inadequate pay... inadequate pay that can be corrected by raising wages.

or maybe the low morale is caused by unrealistic expectation about what their labor is worth.

What Im gettin at is a bottom of the totem pole job is just that. You cant raise the amount people make there to save them. The cost of living will just go up to compensate they will still be at the bottom without bankable skills. Thats how economics work. Trying to make a bottom job something else is the error. It is what it is. Seems simple to me maybe im just fortunate to understand the reality. But again I do support raising minimum wage but not to where it begins to have negative consequences and backfires due to inflation and inevitable higher prices.

Because what you're missing is the part that wages haven't increased along with the cost of living. There used to be a time where people at the bottom were still able to afford to feed their families and pay a mortgage and have a car. Companies have found a way to charge more across the board, pay less to their employees, and have less employees to pay.

The cost of living has increased and continues to increase... while wages increases have stagnated and that's a path of destruction.

Not if the government offered me the chance to learn something new.

Economics do not work to where the cost of living goes up and wages do not. That's only a phenomena that begun as recently as the past 30-40 years. And that's all irrelevant anyway b/c that wasn't a graph comparing COL to wages. It was comparing PRODUCTIVITY to WAGES.

Economics do not work to where bottom of the totem pole productivity increases but bottom of the totem pole wages do not. Did you even look at and process the graph or has the system just left your mind that corrupted? Do the people at the bottom of the totem pole not deserve to reap the benefits of their increased productivity? But you want to imply that the very very few at the top should be able to pocket every last cent of those gains?

The level to which Americans have been brainwashed is fucking insane.

When those people lose their jobs because they've been replaced by robots, guess what will happen when they are unable to take care of themselves & their children...........

More Government spending in the form of subsidized housing, food stamps, medicaid, and public aid payments.

Let them unionize and walk out. God forbid the community rallies around them to take a stand. Tell them what their labor is worth then.

so WHAT would you do??? those people have to be replaced or will be eventually people are not going to stop the march of technology. I think it's become clear that technology increases productivity but it can also decrease the need for human labor.

So what do you intend to do with the masses of laid off unskilled workers who are having less and less access to higher education?

Do you think they're going to sit around twiddling their thumbs in squalor?

I have no issue with unions but unions also have to be more realistic, no fast food worker should be thinking that they deserve 15 per hour. Their labor is worth what their employers can afford to pay them and what they are willing to accept.

Don't let the fact that you pay ya bills on time or you ain't struggling fool ya, a lot of us being fucked on our wages. You might be making minimum wage in your position

Pay attention, i said i have no problem with the government offering people access to better education so that they can find work elsewhere. It would also be cool to me if the government allowed fast food places to get a tax cut if they keep these low skilled workers around for a few years what way things can stabilize for the overall economy, there would be less of a shock when these low skilled jobs finally do vanish.

The key phrase is "low skilled worker". If you dont have an education or a skill you are fucked. If Wendys does go this route the "low skilled worker" flipping the burger will get screwed but the "high skilled worker" who can install, program and repair the new automated system will hit a lick.

Education is the new currency of the 21st century. If u dont have it youre fucked. Cacs know this and thats why they are intentionally trying to make college more and more expensive each year. They are trying to price middle and working class people out of higher education so they can keep flipping burgers and maintain total control of their uneducated lives. Without an education you dont stand a chance in the 21st century.

Its a cold game and these cacs are determined to make it even colder.

I hear u but don't be fooled. With everyone and they moma going to college these days there aren't gonna be enough good paying jobs for all us high skilled folk in the future. The same folk turning they nose up at certain jobs will 've forced to work them or been in the struggle for any form of employment.....

do you really think it was to avoid paying the wages

or was it already in effect and now they have a reason

I think this shit may have sped it up a little bit.... Not hating on the workers for wanting more but admit it... There shouldn't be a poster here that should want to pay more for something than what it's worth. If this were true then places like Walmart and McDonald's would exist in the first place... Its hard for me to feel any kind of way for those people that say they have been working those jobs for a decade or better... That's on them.. And this coming from a man whose whole life has been one big roller coaster so far....bottom to tha top back to tha bottom and elevated to higher levels...

These are the jobs that keep certain group of folk from robbing yo ass.... They phased/phasing out those jobs ... Hell factories already been phased out.. hard times a coming for a lot of folk

Some people are dumb enough to think these things were just invented yesterday. They been had these machines. It was inevitable
