A mixtape is what 50 did. He took other people's beats and rapped over them to get them ready for his album, which is good quality, produced, arranged and recording to a real album standard. Let's not fool ourselves Gucci's mixtapes are ALBUMS just with him recording subpar and dropping a bunch of shit with no mixing or mastering involved and people where eating it up like its a mixtape so it gets a pass. GUCCI was dropping albums not mixtapes. 50 cent dropped mixtapes and albums. How is a album with original beats a mixtape? so what seperates a mixtape versus a album other then what a artist says it is? Mixtape = jacked beats just freestyling or rapping Album = Original beats rapping in good quality or bad a album is a album.

few yrs ago I read sumthin that said if a tape has @ least 10 original songs/beats it's a "street album" & not a mixtape

I Agree to a Certain extent but i think Wayne really made that Transition with The Drought is over Mixtapes where he had Original beats and music.

I wouldn't say ur wrong, but he's more known for The Dedication mixtapes
