Gucci took it a step further by makin songs on original beats

so they both deserve props, but I'd say Gucci gets a lil more credit

Ok so, how about I just make a bunch of original beats on a Fisher Price MPC (add some 808s and repetitive string heavy rhythms of course) and use words that rhyme with trap, coke, ass, clap, pills, burr. Do I get props as well?

A mixtape is what 50 did. He took other people's beats and rapped over them to get them ready for his album, which is good quality, produced, arranged and recording to a real album standard. Let's not fool ourselves Gucci's mixtapes are ALBUMS just with him recording subpar and dropping a bunch of shit with no mixing or mastering involved and people where eating it up like its a mixtape so it gets a pass. GUCCI was dropping albums not mixtapes. 50 cent dropped mixtapes and albums. How is a album with original beats a mixtape? so what seperates a mixtape versus a album other then what a artist says it is? Mixtape = jacked beats just freestyling or rapping Album = Original beats rapping in good quality or bad a album is a album.
