The beauty of the album imo is they balanced each other out, it didn't sound like two niggas tryna out rap each other.

I think since Kanye is a producer he has more to offer as a artist. Jay is by far a better technical mc. It works when they come together though, that's why i laugh when people were talking about Watch the throne should of been Jay and Nas. Fuck no, Kanye brings that counter balance to Jay imo.

thats true but jays delivery, flow, lyrics all better than kanye. Kanye is a good rapper but he gets overrated at times, rapping wise he cant keep up with the best

Stop it right there.. Jay-Z cant on ANY BEAT and murder that shit.. Kanye's beats aint keepin Jay afloat.. Jay can easily get Pharrel or Timbaland or Just Blaze or Dr. Dre or practically anyone he chooses to produce an album for him and that shit will not only move units. You can rest assured its going to be an excellent album...

Cosign, like American Gangster didn't shit on BP3 and those tracks Kanye gave Jay that so call keeps him afloat.

The retardedness of some of these people. Why can't niggas like Big Sean, Common, etc get to Jay-z level if Kanye is keeping Jay affloat. Like BP3 ain't outselll MBTDF

Ofcourse it takes a nigga from my city to drop that real shit. Kanye is a brilliant producer. However, between his tendency to have Ghostwriters and still spit terrible shit at times, duke barely a rapper. Jay dont produce but is one if the best to ever grace a mic. Kanye got a decent catalog but has no RD,BP, BA. He has no album thats mentioned amongst the best. I still remember niggas loving Through the Wire but being extremely disappointed in CD. Hell, duke doesnt even have a GRODT. Kanye a dope producer. As a rapper, homie not even C level. Nigga drops mediocrity-garbage over superb production. If thats all it takes these days, new rappers should atleast have a flawed blueprint to follow.

As far as Lyrical Content, Substance, Emotion & Subject Matter, Message Kanye West is way ahead of Jay Z

Even as far as Writting & doing his Hooks Kanye West is more creative and better than Jay Z who relies so much on RnB Singers to do the Hooks on his Songs

When it comes to actually Writting Songs with meaning and depth and Rapping with Lyrics with a message Kanye is much better than Jay Z

Only thing Jay Z has over Kanye is Flow

BP3 came out a good 14 months prior to MBTDF sir. First week numbers were pretty similar.

But, BP3 is Jay-z biggest album in total of world wide sales, even bigger than Vol 2. MBTDF sold about half of what BP3 sold domestically (1 mil to 2 mil). It doesn't matter when it came out, MBTDF ain't gonna magically sell a 1 mil to catch up to BP3 sales.

Which coincides with my argument that Jay wasn't a huge international artist in the late 90's. Thanks for clarifying marin3...

And Kanye didn't even care to promote MBDTF. He did Runaway at the VMA's and dropped the video for All of the Lights months after the release. He let the project work itself. Kanye cares more about Grammys and shit than sales. Especially on that project. I wouldn't call it a pop project. Similar to how Jay did American Gangster. Like Ye clearly wasn't trying to cater to the radio with records like "Lost in the World" whereas Jay had a slew of carefully crafted radio friendly singles on his project.

Not that this has anything to do with the thread.
