The South was putting out a lot of mainstream garbage minus Jeezy and TI.

Snoop threw away all the momentum he had with The Blue Carpet Treatment with Ego Trippin'.

50 found a way to make the worst album of his career right when he was challenging Kanye.

Kanye's ego hit critical mass and he started his decline (though we wouldn't really know how badly for a couple more albums- Dark Fantasy being the exception).

Ross became the first rapper to go PLATINUM for a RINGTONE.............. LMAO!

People were taking Gucci Mane seriously.

Jay whiffed on Kingdom Come.

Andre 3000 was named MTV's #4 HOTTEST MC IN THE GAME for essentially 4 GUEST VERSES on remixes.

Ringtones... NUFF SAID.

There's a ton more evidence, but it was no wonder Nas made Hip Hop is Dead. 2006-2007 was a historically bad period for Hip Hop IMO.

Gotta disagree TIP dropped King, Wayne was on fire with Dedication 2, Clipse dropped Hell Hath No Fury, Boosie dropped Bad Azz, Common dropped Finding Forever, Lupe dropped The Cool, Kanye Dropped Graduation, T-Pain was hot, Joc album was surprisingly good, Cam dropped Killa Season, Like Father, Like Son was hot.
