Warren Buffett Co-Signs Jay-Z: "Learn From Him"

So I was like, let me get Reasonable Doubt and I’ll give up [the rest of] my masters. I’ll give up Roc-A-Fella Records, I’ll give up president and CEO of Def Jam Recordings—everything. Just give me my baby to hold on to so 10 years down the line, I can look back and I got something—I’m not empty-handed. And I was the one being offered everything. I thought it was more than fair... And when that was turned down, I had to make a choice. I’ll leave that for the people to say what choice they would’ve made. That’s about it. I don’t really wanna talk about Dame or Biggs. I don’t have nothing negative to say about them. ”

look it up yourself...Dame has said plenty of times he only wanted Kanye as a producer...he never had any intent to put him out as a rapper...just a compilation album using his beats and letting Ye' rap on a couple of the tracks...and it's not the fact that Dame was an asshole...he was an asshole to people ABOVE him...nobody, black, white, whatever, can talk to their superiors in a company the way Dame did and expect them not to dislike him at some point...if Dame ran Def Jam he can cuss out who he wants, but he didn't...he was an asshole towards his bosses and no boss is going to stand for that regardless of what your skin color is....

Nigga, Kanye been said Dame was the reason why he got to put on a Roc chain....

fact is Jay laughed when he heard Kanye was a rapper....

Kanye went to shop around for deals, but was rejected, so Dame gave him a shot....

Without Dame, Kanye might of not ever been put on....just give the man his dues...

Businessmen are assholes, thats how shit goes down in the boardroom, people swear, shout and throw threats..heads roll, things get heated, people cry....when moneys involved everyone turns into an asshole

Dame might of been hot headed and forceful, but he got things done....he brought success to Def Jam...since his departure, Def Jam has become a graveyard....soon as Dame left the label slowly but surely fell off....

Dame was good for Def Jam...however some people at the top thought they could undercut him for personal reasons...funny though, because most of them niggas who fucked Dame over have been sacked....in the long run it was a big mistake

I give Dame his dues...always have but the reason Kanye got his Roc chain is exactly what Dame said it was for...to get his beats...there's a reason kanye also said nobody at the ROC, including Dame, wanted to give him money to shoot Through The Wire and he had to pay for it and promote it himself....and again those people you talking about being assholes are the people at the top...bottom line is you can't be an asshole to your boss and Dame learned the hard way...

here is what jay said about that

Jay-Z on not receiving credit for Kanye West, Ne-Yo, Rihanna & Young Jeezy..

“Let’s first clear this thing about Dame and Kanye and all of us. We all had a conversation about Kanye and whether to sign him. No one knew what would become of Kanye. Not Dame, not me not Biggs. So we all sat down and said, “Let’s at least sign so we can keep the tracks in-house. It’s only good business.” And Dame said, “We can put Beans and Cam, surround him and make this type of album.” I wasn’t saying don’t sign Kanye, I was saying, at least keep the beats in-house, if anything. I don know. Maybe, maybe not. Let’s keep him here. Dame came up with the idea of surrounding him with Roc-A-Fella artists on his album, which never came out, ’cause when the album came in, everyone was like, “Oh this is good.” He stood on his own. If anything, I should be credited for wanting to sign him for his tracks. So even if Dame did sign him, he was gone at that time. I engineered those album. In my years there, even if Tina Davis signed Ne-Yo, she was gone. They were gonna drop Ne-Yo until Ty-Ty [Tyran Smith; former Def Jam VP of A&R] put his hand up and said, “I’ll do that project”.” So there’s no Ne-Yo if I’m not there. I scrapped on of his videos that no one knows about, pulled Hype Williams, pulled June Ambrose, my stylist, made the “So Sick” video, and he’s outta here. Rihanna, there’s just no getting around that. So in three years, I’ve worked on Kanye, Ne-Yo and Rihanna. I don’t even wanna talk about the Fab record that was mine ["Money Goes, Honey Stay (When The Money Goes Remix)" off Fab's latest LP, "Loso's Way], Jeezy doing “Go Crazy (Remix)” in my office. It doesn’t even make sense to
  • like that, cause it’s childish.” - Jay-Z

Jay-Z on the business mindset of Dame Dash…..

“I don’t want people to take this wrong, but if that’s my opinion. that’s my opinion. Dame is good at starting something. I don’t know if he gets in his own way at a certain point. You know, the fights you had coming up aren’t the same fights when you’re on a different level. What would happen is, a lot of times, I would have to go fix. You know, it was time-consuming, going back and just doing three meetings, when we could have had one. Nothing got accomplished, because everyone was screaming at each other. It got to a point…..John Meneilly (Jay’s manager) is not even the same type of thing.” - Jay-Z

Haters are the most hilarious folks on the net. It's a shame that we as black folks have been raised to think so lowly of ourselves that seeing one rise to greatness from the ashes is almost impossible to digest. How many youtube videos and all that shit talk about how Jay Z pays visits to the devil on a daily are there? You have a piece talking about Jay Z and Warren Buffet (who is multiple times richer) and we attack the black man for being wealthy. "He's stabbed blah, blah, blah in the back", "he used blah, blah, blah". There is not one single wealthy (not rich) person that has not stepped on toes or had to act in self-interest in order to get where he is. Just because they don't go and make youtube videos and silly diss tracks (Beans, DeHaven, Jaz) does not mean there are no people that hate on the wealthy.

Sam Walton was a man that had "simple tastes" and was a "good ol' boy" but behind the scenes he was ruining dozens of families and their businesses. I guess he worshipped the devil and was illuminatti too.

Hmm... First off you're overusing the word hater. They're not hating on JayZ, they're stating facts. JayZ shitted on his peers to get where he is today.

Are you cosigning that type of action? So when you have children, you're going to teach your kids (which JayZ has none of at the age of 40) to be just like JayZ? To have the money over everything attitude?

Fuck friends, this money will do? Do whatever it takes to get money, even if it means stabbing your family, and close friends in the back? WTF?!?! #wheretheydothatat

^^^good post, you guys should do your research on real Wealthy people like Bill Gates,Steve Jobs,Larry Oracle, see how many people hate them as well, they just don't have a forum to hate like a hip-hop mag or a new diss song.

Look up John D.Rockefeller and see how Ruthless he was in acquiring his wealth,if you didn't do business with him the way he wanted he would buy up the small surrounding businesses and turn them against you.So let's say you need a train to ship your product and John wants a piece of your company but you don't wanna sell, well he owns ALL the trains that you need to ship your goods,so what do you think will happen ?

No, I am not overusing the word "hater", seeing as I only used it once. But tell me exactly what your so-called facts are. I have not read a single, indisputable fact on here yet.

Yes, I do have a son and I will teach him to follow his heart in whatever decision he makes. It is up to me to instill in him morals but the rest is really up to him as long as he is happy and content with who he is as man. And who exactly as Jay stabbed in the back? Dame? That cat never understood the difference with being driven and with being just a plain old asshole.

I love how niggas act like they worked at DJ. or they worked at Rocafella. or they personally know dame, jay, biggs, anybody who dealt with roc during their time. or have any idea the decisions men/woman worth hundreds of millions of dollars have to make. It's easy to boo an all-star from the nose bleed seats..
