The beat to the intro reminded me of Pac's "Definition of a Thug Nigga" and then the song went downthill

@infamous114

Wale Intro on "Shine"

Nah ... Wale intro sample 2Pac ft DJ Quik & Outlawz "In the Late Night" from Better Dayz Album

This is Wale's worst album. I'll always be a fan. I remember them undergrad college days bumpin his mixtapes, attention deficit & ambition.....

But he's been steady droppin duds for a while now. Wasted potential. He'll never figure it out.

@KamPushMe & @infamous114 ... Those are your opinions which are WRONG...but this is the Facts... Wale's "Thank God"use the sample from 2Pac 's "In the Late Night" they both got it from Donald Byrd

Shit, I like it *shrugs*...probably won't be in rotation too long but it'll serve its purpose for the early summer

Had to go back and listen to Pac's in the late night after hearing that intro tho

Btw, "Definition of a Thug Nigga" has the same Donald Byrd sample....idiot.

Wale gotta switch it up at this point in his career

He should leave MMG and get on his indie grind for a couple years like currensy did.

This is make or break for Wale man

What makes you say that

Wale is in the same place Big Sean was before DSP and J.Cole before FHD. Like my brother in gods @IceBergTaylor said, it really is make or break for Wale. As much as I rip on Wale he is super talented and has the potential but I always felt his music structure was unorganized. Big Sean was determined to get over the loss of his girlfriend and grandmother, J.Cole wanted to speak for a time and generation that was reeling from social issues and growing pains. Wale needs an approach/direction IMO.

I want to see him win and that's rich coming from me. I always felt he should leave MMG they just don't have the machine to push his music to platinum status like that but maybe he'll prove me wrong.

This shit is on point. As an artist idk who wale is...which is critical for a listener. I liked that Gifted Album, but even that shit was all over the place

WALE + MMG = Steady decline to garbage. What made Wale such a good artist in his early career was that he wasn't formulaic in his lyrical content or song structures. This album had some flashes of greatness but it is mightily inconsistent.
