A comeback is when you go from selling 28K with AD to selling 300,000 with "Ambition"

A comeback is sorta like getting dropped by Interscope because you flopped and then getting another record deal and dropping a commercially successful album.

So in that aspect a Big comeback would mean that your first singles failed and then you come back the next year and have a Gold single with "No Hands" and two singles in the Top Ten simultaneously on the HipHop/R&B charts.

I might not be explaining it in detail enough:

He signed his record deal in Febuary 2011 and in addition to dropping two retail albums and having his own tour with "Ambition" his album became the 9th best selling HipHop album of 2011.

I might need to explain the concept of "Comeback" in more detail if those examples failed to explain it fully.

Wale built his fanbase up over his mixtapes post Attention Deficit, specifically MORE ABOUT NOTHING. People like to act like Ross made Wale hot, Wale been hot and bubbling especially with black females. Ross just saw an opportunity and allowed Wale to be himself which Interscope clearly didn't.

The premise of the thread is to salute an artist who according to his interview I posted is happy to have finally found his lane and a formula that can balance commercial success with artistic integrity. I can post some of his music in an additional thread if you like.

Wale discovered that you can't please everybody with your music but if you can find your niche with the HBCU crowd and Black females like USMarine stated then it's possible to be content and satisfied as an artist.

Unfortunately for you his project didn't include any white-boys or white-girls so it might not have sparked your interest like his past projects that included Lady Gaga and Mark Ronson.
