Maybe it is just me, but I believe there is more to the "virgin birth" thing than genealogy. Maybe it has more to do with how man wants to earn or take credit for our own salvation. The virgin birth could be in some way saying that mankind can't take credit for the birth of the savior. If so, then who needs God?

Sure, just a casual skimming of the Bible you see every "ittes" imaginable thus suggesting race or tribes. But, in the case of God saving the world, a certain race or tribe couldn't take credit for the procreation of Jesus. And think of the "racism" associated with that...to say that only a certain group of people is fit to birth "saviors".
