It seems like people have a different understanding of "underrated" b/c to me BUN B is not underrated

underrated in terms of media buzz he is.

But in other terms he isn't...

In the past decade, Bun has been getting alot of airplay. Especially with the Trill albums and the last to UGK albums.

Also, when people talk about Southern rappers, Bun B is always in the discussion. As for the mainstream (media buzz) yea he is underrated but then Nas, Ice Cube, Slaughterhouse, Scarface, Mos Def, Talib, Monch, etc... would be underrated and we all know that list of rappers are far from underrated

If only the labels appreciated the artist as much as you do as a fan, that breakdown was priceless.

Playa Fly-Southern rapper that i wish would have broken out on a bigger scale, can bring top notch lyricism w/o necessarily having to talk about money hoes and clothes, "Write Sum Bump" is a great example of his greatness

Young Dro-phenomenal descriptive wordplay, very witty and funny, there was a short period of time when i thought he was better than tip(tip's one of my favorite rappers ever btw)

MJG-always thought he was a bit better than 8-ball but it seems 8-ball gets more props, sharp flow, dope lyricism, excellent energy on tracks especially guest features

Slim Thug-not exactly the best lyricist, but when he sounds hungry(and is dissing other texas rappers) is when he's dopest, when texas had their lil run, mike jones was at the forefront but he(along with paul wall and chamillionaire) was very underrated imo, check out his mixtapes "Tha boss vol. 1" and "gangsta grillz: boss basics" and u'll see what i mean

Cam'ron-niggas love to bring up "computers putin" and all his "fooley mc gooley" rhyme schemes, but ion think they get the full picture, cam brings that lingo and wordplay that i sincerely think goes over niggas heads, i consider him a nice lyricist and he has classic material on come home with me, purple haze, and DI 1, he even brought some dope rhymes on some of those dry Arabb muzik beats

Young dro is underrated IMO,yo gotti is as well..I would say game is technically underrated as an m.c.lloyd banks should be bigger than he is and fab is overlooked by males as a lyricists but I don't think he gaf..lol,

the tracks are tight. But IMO, what albums have they put out that are worth a listen? For example, AZ has put out REAL good albums and he holds his own with the greats. Can Dro or Slim do that? Na....

AZ's underratedness is making him overrated to me. I see him in niggas top 10s now a lot...

Xzibit

Killer Mike

Black Thought

Young Dro

Inspectah Deck

1st verse Pharoah

2nd verse Lil Flea

3rd verse Icey Hott

4th verse K.B. Da Kidnappa

no order

1. Tech N9ne- dope lyricist wit a crazy flow nigga was nasty wit da multis he did it his way nd sold a shitload of records independently Anghellic was a great album

2. Playa Fly- if dude didnt have a coke habit he would get mentioned along wit ova southern greats, lyrical, yet had street anthems Movin On is a great album

3. Mystikal- some people only kno him for makin shake ya ass, danger, nd bumpin me against da wall but if u go back to his no limit nd big boy sound he was WAY nicer wit da pen nd more lyrical then given credit for. he covered so many topics on unpredictable dats a top 10 album out da south

4. MJG- great flow, lyrical, nd extremely versatile for wateva reason he gets overshadowed by 8ball but he outshined him on their best album On Top of the World

5. Tim Smooth- one of da first New Orleans rappers to get a deal he used to ghostwrite for Mystikal nd crafted his style, he was animated, lyrical nd had mean punchlines dude was ahead of his time RIP.check out Straight Up Drivin Em or Da Franchise Player if u fuck wit Mystikal you'll prolly fuck wit him

so many more overshadowed nd underrated rappers i could think of then 5. Bizzy Bone, his flip flop flow in da late 90's was so unbelievably hard to do nd he made dat shit flawless. Mr Mike from South Circle dope lyricist wit a smooth flow. G Slimm killed way ahead of his time from New Orleans he was on da same label as Mystikal he painted vivid ass pictures.
